Golden Silk Boutique Hotel - Hanoi Old Quarter

Stayed here for 2 weeks and it was amazing. The location is absolutely spot on and the hotel itself was spotless and cannot fault it one bit. Special shout out to Ms Thao on reception, she helped us enormously with bookings, changes to bookings and advice for anything. Also big thank you to Peter, Hung and Quan the service you provide is outstanding. We cannot recommend this hotel enough to anyone thinking of coming, you will not be disapointed.

If i could say one little thing is maybe have smart tvs in the room so people can watch some netflix at night when resting. We stayed in a few different hotels while travelling and they had tvs that we could watch netflix on.

Our stay at Golden Silk Hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed and well taken care of. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and elegance right in the heart of the bustling city.

What made our experience even more exceptional was the outstanding service provided by the receptionist, Thao. She went above and beyond to assist us throughout our stay—always greeting us with a genuine smile and ensuring that all our needs were met. Whether it was helping us with directions, arranging transportation, or recommending local spots to explore, Thao was consistently helpful, patient, and attentive.

Her dedication made us feel not just like guests, but valued visitors. It’s rare to encounter such sincere hospitality, and it truly enhanced our overall experience in Hanoi.

We are incredibly grateful for the warm service and memorable stay. Thanks to Thao and the entire team, Golden Silk Hotel will always hold a special place in our travel memories. We would gladly return and highly recommend it to others.

Golden Silk is our home away from home. Every visit we made to the hotel was always warm and welcoming. We are part of their family. We even shared food the traditional vietnamese way. Special mention to Loan/Tracy who always has a helping hand, shen went out of her way to extend assistance that we needed.

Great position, good reception staff (we had bikes returning to the hotel four times over three months and they were very accommodating), large well equipped rooms.

The hotel is near the Old Town center, has beautiful decor, and the staff are very enthusiastic, especially Tony who works the night shift. This is a good choice for those looking for accommodation in the Old Town center

The hotel is well-located, which is definitely its strongest point. However, the overall experience was disappointing due to poor service and an underwhelming breakfast setup. The layout felt disorganized, and basic items like coffee, water bottles, and even creamer sachets seemed to be rationed, which was quite surprising.

The room itself was very tight, and the view—facing an internal staircase—was something I have never encountered before in all my travels. As a frequent traveler, this was a first and not in a good way.

Unfortunately, despite the prime location, the service standards and overall experience did not meet expectations.

I was here as part of a group tour and chose to return for two additional nights. Great location in the Old Quarter just 5 mins from the cathedral and lake. Lovely staff (bellman Hung was very helpful). Very good breakfast. Rooms are clean and adequate.

Unfortunately what was a good experience in a nice hotel was partially ruined by the staff demanding a review on check out and hovering over my should while I wrote it. Would not recommend. They were called Tony and Hung.
