It was near to all the places I wanted too be
It was a little run down
The staff were excellent, especially the young lady who checked us in. The bar had a great vibe and the barman was excellent. The breakfast was pretty good.
I understand it’s an old building which must be difficult to maintain but it has the appearances of being quite tired. We were in the Scarborough room which is a lovely big characterful room with a huge bathroom but had some things that could easily be remedied. There was no plug for the hairdryer near the mirror or the dressing table. It was impossible to draw the curtains properly. The bathroom seemed well equipped but there was not enough pressure for the shower and when I tried the jets in the bath, the water stank. There was nothing to put things on by the hand basin. Personally, I’d take that bath out and put an ordinary one in and have a pump for the shower. Considering the high price, £220 for one night, I would have expected soap etc by the bath.
Proximity to the centre of Scarborough
Service lacking, bed small, limited breakfast choice
All
The staff were extremely friendly room spacious clean and comfortable food was excellent evening meal superb loved
Our stay will be back again
Nothing
Lovely staff
Bed and pillows a little firm for me
I have recently spent an annual week's holiday at Scarborough's Crescent Hotel which I have repeated for 12 years and I cannot praise it highly enough. The traditional family hotel is spotlessly clean and filled with period charm, the catering provision is excellent both at breakfast and evenings whilst the entire staff attention to customers is faultless throughout the stay. I could not imagine wishing to stay anywhere else.

The staff were kind and considerate and very friendly. They welcomed us and provided all essential information on arrival.
We received an unexpected upgrade which was lovely and something that has never happened to us before.
The breakfast was delicious and the service was exceptional. The staff really are fantastic and we received the perfect poached eggs!
The mattress in our room was so uncomfortable. It was really hard and uncomfortable and I suspect it needed replacing.
The lovely roll top bath leaked underneath and left a large puddle of water.
Great location. Easily reached from the train station. Clean and comfortable rooms and a lovely breakfast.
Nothing.
The staff were so welcoming and interested in our stay.
Lovely choice at breakfast
Friendly and obliging staff good sized room very comfortable.
A small fridge would be a nice addition to the room and a tea towel just to wash & dry the cups after use
The room was spacious and welcoming. The staff were attentive and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and served timely. Lovely stay overall
Nothing to dislike. Bar area was starting to look tired could maybe done with a revamp on fixtures and fittings.
Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated.
Food well cooked and presented.
Would have preferred a walk un shower, rather than one over the bath.
Breakfast is fabulous, cooked to order and red hot on arrival, very good quality products
Room was clean and decorated tastefully, unfortunately it was very hot but then it was 35 degrees outside so no wonder!
nothing
The room was clean, bed very comfortable and great location.
The location
Lift smelled of smoke
Very comfortable
Slight attention to detail on cleaning dusty in places and cobwebs x
Morag in the breakfast room is lovely. The hotel is in a great location. The room was comfortable and well appointed. On the whole we enjoyed our stay
We had a number of issues. The first room they gave us had an obscure d view of heating vents out a tiny window. The photos on the booking showed either 2 windows or a big window. Also it specifically said view. Chris was lovely about this and said due to being fully booked he could move us tomorrow. We were happy with this. However when I went to ask for shower gel ( 3 times we were told there was a dispenser on the wall which there wasn't) the manager appeared and said i hear you are not happy with your room. We don't want to false advertise. First we never did or would say that and secondly I was asking about shower gel! She then tried to say they don't advertise views and questioned where I had booked and where I had read a view etc. I had to show her my booking. Her tone was unfortunate and she just wouldn't let it go also i didnt appreacite the repeated use of you are accusing us of false advertising.. I wasn't going to bring it up at all.
The hotel is woefully understaffed as you have to hand your key in. Upon return I had to ring the bell and wait for the poor person serving dinner to come and get it. The same at breakfast, hardly any cold buffet, no cutlery, no glasses etc. This is not the staffs fault as they are doing their best. The lady who we got our key from each night had a nice wee chat with us.
