Perfect location and a lovely ambiance with a nice team.
Pros:

The breakfast was nice, good terras outside, lovely area. The location was top, because we had a rental car and there was valid parking. It's situated between nice shops and restaurants. Not to crowded like down in the centre.

Cons:

Well everything was fine, I would like to have more hooks to hang towels in the bathroom and hooks to hang jackets in the room itself.

Not bad, but a one-time experience
Pros:

The hotel has a fantastic location and spacious rooms. A special mention goes to the wonderful chef, Benjamin, who makes an absolutely delicious risotto, and to Oksana from the restaurant, who went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful dinner experience.

A huge thank you to Oksana for her attentiveness, care, and professionalism. She truly made our evening special!

Cons:

Unfortunately, the reception staff were a major downside of our stay.

First of all, the hotel contacted me in advance and confirmed that our room would have one king-size bed. However, when we arrived, there were two separate beds in the room, and we then had to ask for them to be pushed together.

Our room overlooked the back of the hotel, right next to very loud ventilation systems. It was practically impossible to keep the balcony door open because of the noise and the strong smells of food coming from outside. The Deluxe Room with Balcony also looked quite different in reality compared to the photos, but no one seemed particularly interested in finding a solution or offering us an alternative.

We came to celebrate a birthday, and when we asked the reception for help arranging flowers, the whole process was surprisingly slow and complicated. We also asked them to book a table at a restaurant near the hotel for a birthday dinner for nine people, but somehow the reservation was made for only two people. We had a similar experience when arranging our airport transfer — it involved far too much back-and-forth for something that should be straightforward at a five-star hotel.

Breakfast service was another disappointment. There seemed to be many new or inexperienced members of staff who often appeared unsure of what they were supposed to do. Orders were mixed up, dishes arrived in a strange order and often took a very long time to come. The breakfast selection itself was also quite limited.

For a five-star hotel, we expected a much higher and more consistent standard of service, particularly from the reception team.

Hotel is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast is amazing with so much choice and variety. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and everything we ate was so delicious.
And the whole staff is so friendly and helpful, every single one of them!
There is fresh flavoured water, coffee and snacks in the lobby everyday, which is a great touch. They even prepared us a breakfast box to go the morning we left since it was so early. The metro is also righty across the street.

Great location, all of the hotel staffs were very nice, kind and welcoming! Breakfast was excellent!

Unser Aufenthalt im Hotel 138 Liberdade über vier Nächte war ein tolles Erlebnis – natürlich auch durch Lissabon selbst, aber das Hotel hat wesentlich dazu beigetragen.

Es handelt sich um eine sehr gute Fünf-Sterne-Unterkunft in perfekter zentraler Lage. Vieles ist zu Fuß erreichbar, und mit Uber kommt man in Lissabon flexibel, schnell und günstig in alle Stadtteile. Für eine Städtereise ist die Lage daher wirklich ideal.

Die Zimmer sind geräumig und entsprechen dem erwarteten Standard. Besonders hervorzuheben sind das hervorragende Bett und die sehr gute Matratze. Auch der Reinigungsservice für Kleidung hat einwandfrei funktioniert.

Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet: große Auswahl, sehr guter Kaffee, freundlicher Service und die Möglichkeit, auf der Terrasse in den Tag zu starten. Eierspeisen können zusätzlich bestellt werden und sind im Preis inbegriffen. Die Terrasse ist besonders am Morgen ein sehr angenehmer Ort.

Einziger größerer Kritikpunkt ist aus unserer Sicht das Design. Das gesamte Haus ist stark in dunklen Farbtönen bis hin zu Schwarz gehalten. Dadurch wirkt es stellenweise etwas düster. Auch das Zimmer war durch die dunklen Wände und Farben eher dunkel, obwohl zwei Fenster vorhanden waren. Besonders das Badezimmer mit schwarzen Fliesen und schwarzer Decke empfanden wir als etwas bedrückend.

Beim Fernsehprogramm gibt es zwar eine sehr große Senderauswahl, allerdings konnten wir keine deutschsprachigen Programme finden.

Insgesamt haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Hotel bietet sehr guten Service, ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück, komfortable Zimmer und eine perfekte Lage. Trotz des etwas dunklen Designs können wir das Hotel klar empfehlen
