The best hotel I’ve stayed in a long time

Pure luxury with the most incredible views
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Varenna! The location is excellent with cafes, restaurants and incredible lake views right on your door step! The staff are exceptionally accommodating and very hospitable. They went above and beyond to help us with transportation and make our stay super comfortable. The Visteria restaurant is a must-do experience- the food was some of the best we’ve eaten in Italy and the service is unparalleled. The breakfast is also well worth every penny. Not only is there a large variety of hot/cold food, they served an array of fresh fruit, the creamiest scrambled eggs, made fresh coffee/teas and it all tasted so divine! Our room was pristine clean with lots of little touches/amenities (eg. kettle with an array of tea and coffee, little biscuits gifted to us for free, champagne on the house etc.). We loved our stay and would highly recommend you experience Hotel Royal Victoria! It was luxurious!

Cons:

I had a very disappointing experience with a waiter at the hotels grill restaurant. He was very rude and declined to serve us dessert because we had eaten our dinner elsewhere. The manager at reception intervened and successfully resolved the issue. Because of how rude the waiter was to us, she provided us with dessert on the house. Overall we loved our stay and this definitely should not influence your opinion to stay here - just be mindful.

Mooi goed gelegen hotel, prima ontbijt, mooi uitzicht.
Pros:

Ligging van hotel is ideaal voor verkennen van Varenna en omliggende dorpen.

Cons:

Er was een privefeest in de bar en geen alternatief voor de gasten. Hadden wellicht in entreeruinte drinken kunnen bezorgen vanuit bar.

Magnifique vue sur le lac . Très bien situé

Cons:

Les œufs du petit déjeuner sont payants ??? Sauf si œufs durs . Je n’ai jamais vu cela dans un 4 étoiles . Choix de thé très limité . J’ai demandé par 2 fois un thé vert que je n’ai jamais eu / thé basique type breakfast

Amazing hotel, my favourite
Pros:

Incredible staff at main desk - I think his name was Luca, he is a credit to the hotel. His female colleague with glasses was equally accommodating. The staff kindly left an anniversary message in the room for us which was a lovely touch. The facilities / hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. The view at breakfast is incredible. The pool is amazing. Would easily be 10/10 if not for our small issue on arrival.

Cons:

Unfortunately on arrival it appeared our bed had been led on as pillow / quilt were pressed in. Also we found a bracelet on it. The staff member who helped changed the pillowcase but it was very difficult to communicate & he made us feel like we were being difficult.
