The staff are absolutely lovely, and I never use that word! Always smiling and cheery even though they must be busy.
The inn is a very cosy and comfortable stop off for us en route to Edinburgh. It’s a peaceful antidote to the hubbub of cities.
Would have liked a bath, there wasn’t one in our room on this occasion, but we didn’t book early enough!
location spettacolare e super caratteristica...quando pensi alla Scozia ti immagini proprio questo!
una locanda con ottimo ristorante e sopra camere intime e accoglienti...pulito con personale super gentile e il cibo favoloso
super consigliato!
uno dei nostri alloggi migliori
Very quiet area, staff were excellent, lovely room with comfortable bed and lovely bedding
Food really good and value for money
Great freshly cooked breakfast.
Bathroom window looked onro the street with clear glass. Fortunately there was a blind.
Location perfect for us. Got parked easily. Bigger room and bed than expected. Shower and toiletries perfect. Breakfast excellent. Lovely tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Creaky floorboards on landing but it was a very old property so to be expected.
Very helpful and friendly staff
Excellent quality and quantity of meals (breakfast and dinner)
Comfortable and quiet bedroom

Scottish Breakfast was great. also cereal and fruit available. enjoyed the chatter with other guests at breakfast. the staff were great, polite helpful and always service with a smile. the staff and food made the stay so enjoyable and a return is highly likely. we did some walking while there and the weather really helped. so relaxing.
Big Thank You
the room was at the end of the building so view wasn't great, but was clean and comfortable.
Excellent breakfast and lovely staff
Rather small room but perfectly adequate for 1 night
Excellent breakfast. Dinner menu a little constrained.
gorgeous fish and chips. silence.
parking
Breakfast excellent. Comfortable bed. In the right position next to the Village Hall, for our purpose. Friendly and welcoming.
We've stayed here many times over the last twenty years - weathering closure and change of ownership, because it is convenient for Ian lowthian's Music Courses.
Dinner on Sunday - way less than good. Waited ages for it to arrive. Am guessing it was left in the oven/forgotten?? everything overcooked. Meat extremely tough. Yorkshire Pudding burnt at the edges.... Roast potatoes black and rock solid!!gravy dried up!
And the young waiter (very pressed and busy,) disappeared..... and did not re-appear any time soon so I could not say anything. I was extremely tired after a very active day, so after waiting a while longer, we Husband and I, just gave up, and went up to bed. I did mention my dissatisfaction next morning when checking out.
The inn is in an idyllic location and without exception all the locals were exceptionally welcoming. It was good to see the inn also hosted a meeting for a village community in the morning which meant it does not just cater for tourists. The location is remote which is a plus for us and there was a lovely book detailing walks and trails in the area. The hosts were great and we had an enjoyable evening meal. The room was nicely furnished and we had a sitting chair each which was great.
The only minor issue which is personal taste was a very soft mattress and pillows. Other guests may prefer this.
We chose Ettrick Bridge as a scenic stop-over on our way home from a holiday tour in the UK. The approach to the area takes you through some stunning and dramatic landscapes - really worth leaving the motorways for these views.
The Inn is a wonderful find. The bar area is clean and cozy and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was also very clean and cozy and we slept soundly and comfortably. We have dinner on the night we arrived and breakfast on departure. Both meals were of exceptional quality. If we're ever in that part of the World again, we will be back.
My wife got a bit of a shock on entry when she saw.... see pic below :-)
No harm done!! Adds to the holiday tales.
The room was very comfortable. Staff helpful and lovely. Food excellent. Good selection of beers.
Nothing.
