Great value. Esplanade has old charm. Despereately needs a complete refurb. Staff were stretched.

Great location but disappointing hotel experience.
Pros:

This hotel occupies a premium waterfront location, overlooking the harbour and right in the midst of the shops and ferry terminal. It is a beautiful historic building but has seen better days unfortunately. Room rates are very reasonable.

Cons:

This building could be so much more than it is . It looks very tired and shabby . Room 106 was a big disappointment. Bath was an entire blue and white mosaic of chipped paint, shower head sprayed water in every which way and ran hot and cold at will, basin plug was many sizes too big, Venetian blinds thick with dust, fake plastic flowers, some jacked up kitchen arrangement in bedroom with instructions not to use . No restaurant and blocked off areas. Outside needs a good water blast. Guests need to be aware of what they are getting as photos perhaps a tad misleading

Very basic accommodation, but convenient stay close to everything
Pros:

Location, room size pretty good. Receptionist available most of the day.

Cons:

Pillows not comfortable. Not enough blankets in room. Blinds didnt work in bathroom.

Pros:

Location was AMAZING!
Very classy joint built in 1901.
It was comfortable, but not modern.
Also, what a bargain.
We had the top middle room, which had great views. See photos.

Cons:

There was a bit of a stale smell in the bathroom, which we could smell in there occasionally.
