A nice area with well marked walks, and this hotel was very central. Ideal for a short stay.
Pros:

The food was lovely, the staff friendly and efficient and the room was quite spacious. We had a wardrobe and chests of drawers, which these days is quite unusual. Parking, in the private car park, was easy.

We ate an evening meal at the hotel which was good.

Pros:

Lovely staff in a lovely village. Breakfast was fantastic and the room very nice. We were on our way to a work trip but would be the perfect spot to explore the wonderful local area.

Cons:

The evening meal was a bit average and the chefs specials were not particularly special (more than made up for at breakfast). The staff were great.

Food great, but room far too hot and couldn't sleep.
Pros:

Excellent food and drink, with good service. Would give 10 out of 10.

Cons:

Far too hot in the room and struggled to sleep. The radiator in the bathroom wouldn't switch off at all and all reception said was it's an old building. Sorry but we booked B&B and the bed part was very poor and would give 1 out of 10, hence the 6 score...

This time the visit was too short.
Pros:

A very pleasant hotel with an excellent staff.
We were meeting some friends which we promised to take out for lunch. Somehow everything we tried, was closed on Tuesday, including the hotel for lunch. We were offered an afternoon tea as a solution but then at 12.30am. It is delicious, soup, all the sandwiches and cakes and creme brulee at the end. This was a brilliant solution.

Cons:

I know, old building and that means no elevator. So if possible, if there are some mobility issues (especially after a visit to the bar), ask for a room on the first floor.

Great food, lovely staff!
Pros:

The food was top notch and the staff were so friendly and helpful and welcoming.

Cons:

Just one issue - the room (Rm 4) door handle has seen better days and isn't easy to lock / unlock. Could do with a bit of attention. But a very minor thing.
