It was fantastic location right on the beach. The beach was quiet and not touristy even during this heatwave. The hotel had parking. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was a pool table which was fun to use. The restaurant/ bar was lovely. The room was spacious and clean.
Unfortunately it was a heatwave so the room was warm- the hotel provided up with two fans which was the best that they could do
Location was good and breakfast was brilliant
Dated, mucky carpets - need a good clean, no air conditioning- not great during a heatwave. We went with friends and all paid the same price however, the rooms were all different sizes. Some had balconies, some a terrace and some none. Just didn’t add up, and we felt short changed. The dining room also had an odd faint urine smell. It also took a very long time to get served outdoors.
Room 607 was directly over Wedding celebrations causing us disturbance all night so no sleep.
Not in main hotel but outside and up two flights of stairs. Not good as we’re OAPs. Mobility issues.
On the positive side dinner was excellent.

The hotel is in a very nice location - brilliant if you want to relax by the sea and near local villages for walks and cycling. The building is lovely and has clearly been renovated recently to make it a luxurious stay.
We experienced several issues during our recent spa visit. There was a misunderstanding regarding the timing of both our treatments and the spa session. We were informed that we would have a 45-minute treatment followed by a 2-hour spa session. Our treatments were booked from 3pm, and when I asked how long we could expect to stay (as I needed to book a dinner reservation afterwards), I was told we would be finished by 5:45pm.
However, when it came to using the spa facilities, we were asked to leave just before 5pm as the spa was closing. This meant our spa session was cut significantly short, and we had to leave in a rush rather than enjoying a relaxing experience. This was not what we had been told to expect and ultimately spoiled what was meant to be a relaxing afternoon and a birthday treat for my husband.
While we did receive a partial refund to account for some of the lost time, we did not feel the response from staff was particularly apologetic, which left us feeling disappointed overall.
We also dined in the hotel restaurant afterwards. Unfortunately, there appeared to be only one staff member covering the entire restaurant, which led to delays in taking our order, and a side salad we ordered was forgotten.
Overall, the experience did not meet our expectations, with poor communication and understaffing affecting what should have been an enjoyable and relaxing visit.

Service in restaurant is so slow, cooked breakfast was dry, buffet area was never refilled and toasters wrong size for bread supplied. No salt pepper or sugar on table, when I asked was told its on table, eventually given some little sachets.
Sunday roast, beef chewy, veg was nicely cooked but Yorkshire soggy.
Overall a disappointment given the cost only upside is location

The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and well equipped. The beachside terrace and bar were great. The restaurant was fine for a couple of nights.
We didn't find the beds or pillows especially comfortable. Breakfast was chaos on bank holiday Monday with a lot of the continental breakfast items running out and our cooked breakfast taking 30 minutes to arrive.
Room was small
Air conditioning was very inadequate and staff had to be pushed for an answer.
Beautiful location, comfy bed
Bad service, staff seemed very stretched and stressed. Food was low quality and expensive. Private spa area offered little privacy due to people in dining area sat next to fence and able to see through.
I think the spa should be included in the hotel price , very disappointing, otherwise a good stay

The staff at breakfast were very pleasant but the service was quite slow at times .
Très bel établissement, à la fois typique et moderne. Il est situé dans un coin calme, donnant sur la plage. Le petit déjeuné était très riche et le personnel nous a fait le meilleur accueil. Je le recommande pour des vacances ou seulement un week end en amoureux
La gare de Cooden est situé juste derrière l'hotel. Pratique pour l'accès mais les personnes au sommeil léger peuvent entendre les trains. Heureusement, il en circule très peu !!
Hotel on the beach in very quiet area. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The beds very comfortable.
The lady on reception was extremely welcoming and helpful and we decided to stay an extra night as it was such a good hotel.
All the staff were very good.
Parking easy and nearby with plenty of space.
