Breakfast was good
Adjoining room, which meant I was kept awake byt he neighbouring family.
The location is amazing
It’s right next to a railway station. This is great for getting there but it can impact you if your room is close to the station. If you have room 205 demand to be moved because you are not going to have a peaceful stay. The noise from the station and the road are terrible. Then just when you think you have silence, room 204 has the shower adjacent to your bed so you’re awakened by the noise of their shower.
Location couldn't be better, right on the beach and we all had lovely sea views to wake up to in comfortable beds! Breakfast absolutely super, good choice and quality. Rooms nicely decorated, with a real nod to the Art Deco style of the building, and immaculately clean; staff friendly, welcoming and polite on reception. Areas downstairs also very well-decorated and maintained.
My daughter's room seemed to have no air conditioning and was quite stuffy: they slept with windows open and a fan running all night. Mine was more comfortable, though.The building is old and therefore installing a lift could be a problem, although there was the offer of assistance with our bags. The tea and coffee making was very limited - kettle, basic tea bags, coffee sachets, milk portion pots - nothing special, no fruit or herbal teas; there were biscuits if you wanted them (again, very ordinary); I've stayed in hotels where there are even small bottles of complimentary port and whisky (for example, local to their particular area). No other drinks unless you used the bar downstairs or ordered room service. For a room of this quality and price, it did feel like the 'extras' were missing, really - no robes / slippers for example, those nice little touches. The spa seemed expensive for basic use as an add-on (it's included if you book direct through the hotel.) Maybe our expectations were a bit too high, but then again this was definitely not cheap to book.

The location was great
I booked the outside spa but when I arrived I was told it was the indoor spa, the lady showed me around and there were a group of men drinking beer in the hot tub, I didn’t want to join them! So I didn’t get to use the facilities.
I had dinner in the restaurant and it was served cold or room temp but certainly not hot. We also had white bait and pawns that were very fishy. I felt quite unwell after I’d eaten. The food was extremely poor

Room was very noisy - could hear everything from room next door. Asked for two rooms close together but were actually in two separate buildings five minutes walk from room to room.

No lift, carrying luggage upstairs can be tricky. A soft cloth or disposable flannel would be nice. Never eough tea or milk. The bathroom sink is cracked, which is not hygienic.

The superior king sea view room was tiny and definitely not with the money . It was tired and quite shabby as well as being incredibly warm in the room
The room was lovely. We had a view of the sea. The staff were always friendly and attentive and there were plenty of them. Service was excellent.
The first room we had was noisy as it was near the kitchen outlet vents. We asked for a move to a quiet room and they arranged the move quickly and with minimum fuss.
