Pleasant stay
Pros:

Spacious room
Staff very helpful
Enjoyable dinner

Cons:

Finding out breakfast was only continental and extra charge for cooked breakfast.
Bed was old and very squeaky

Pleasant, homely hotel with friendly staff, cosy decor and good food
Pros:

I liked the quirky style of the building with the turrets and the warren of rooms downstairs and the comfortable, slightly old-fashioned decor with leather armchairs downstairs and the wooden bedroom furniture with cushions.

Cons:

Although the hotel was warm in the communal areas the radiators in the bedrooms hardly came on and it was a bit cold. Some of the soft furnishings like the throw cushions on the bed were a bit tired. These had watermarks on the fabric. Also the previous guest’s toothpaste was still in the pot in the bathroom! However general cleanliness was good. There were no dubious stains in the sink toilet or shower and the towels and bed linen were clean. The shower had good water pressure, and was easy to use.

It's a very pretty.

Cons:

When we arrived we waited 25 minutes for someone on reception to come. We found the lady in the restaurant. It looks like she does everything!

The key in room 110 is really hard to open the door!

Lovely place to stay and would stay again
Pros:

Stayed with family for 1 night - had a lovely meal in restaurant - no complaints. Staff very chatty and friendly.
Rooms were comfortable.

Not a roundabout in sight and very quiet location.

Cons:

Our room in main buildings first floor 105 was next to the kitchen extractor fans which were turned on just after 7am on a Sunday & morning woke us up - dull droning noise and staff arriving just after 7 were not noisy but you could here everyone chatting word for word.
As breakfast didn't start till 8am maybe not turn them on till nearer 8.

Not nice.
Pros:

We ended up in a spacious and elegant room, in a nice woodland setting.

Cons:

The first room we were offered was musty and cold (just a day or two after the hottest summer period on record!). We were given a better room but reluctantly after we complained but I’m not happy about being tricked in this way.

The Roundabout Hotel worked out well for us, but it would be nice if the bathrooms were more modern
Pros:

The staff was lovely - very personable and accommodating. The breakfast was also very nice. Overall it suited our needs well.

Cons:

The bathroom was quite dated and had two separate taps for hot and cold water which was not ideal. It was also a bit difficult to climb in and out of the tub for a shower.

The hotel served our requirement adequately and we would stay again
Pros:

Friendly staff and quiet location with comfortable bed.

Cons:

Disappointed with the vegetables at dinner. They were either frozen or cooked too long. They did not seem freshly cooked. The seabass was very tasty as was the homemade pate. Breakfast was ok but no plain yogurt.

Pros:

Gorgeous, big room and tasty breakfast.
Staff were very nice and got us an iron on request as we had a wedding that day.

Cons:

Whilst the check out was 11am, breakfast was only from 7-8.45am which felt very early, and ended up eating then going back to sleep for a nap! Would be fab if it was available a bit later in the day I.e. til 9.30am.

Location is in a pretty place but you have to drive everywhere - but absolutely suited our purposes.

Adequate but lacking many important aspects
Pros:

Good standard of breakfast. Clean and comfortable room

Cons:

Having to pay extra for cooked breakfast and pressure to pay night before
Paper thin walls. I could hear every word said by guests in neighbouring room
Hearing guest snoring in neighbouring room
Being rushed out of dining room after breakfast
No main course vegetarian option
No guest lounge
No garden for guests to sit in
