Extremely Disappointing Stay
This hotel is old and clearly has not been renovated for a very long time. Unfortunately, the condition of the room and the attitude of the staff made our stay extremely disappointing.
There were cobwebs in the corners of the room, and the toilet seat was very dirty, with visible yellow stains. The room had a strong smell of dust and cigarette smoke, despite the fact that we had informed the hotel in advance that we would be staying with a small child.
The bottled water provided by the hotel was of very poor quality. When used to make tea, it left a noticeable residue. The kettle was also heavily covered with limescale.
A large part of the lighting in the room did not work. The bulbs were burned out in several areas, including the two rooms, hallway and bathroom. There was also no soap in the shower. As we arrived late, we had no choice but to take a shower without soap.
The beds were old and uncomfortable. They were on wheels and kept moving apart during the night, making it difficult to sleep properly.
The most unacceptable part of our stay, however, was the way our belongings were handled and the attitude of the hotel management.
After a long journey by car, my wife washed the lunch boxes we use for our child’s food, dried them and left them on the table in our room. When we returned in the evening, the lunch boxes were gone.
We immediately contacted reception and explained that these boxes were needed to store food for our child during the journey. We specifically explained that they had been washed and left on the table in the room.
We had to wait until the following day, and approximately 20 minutes before a manager came to speak with us. She did not introduce herself and spoke to us in a very rude and unprofessional manner. No reasonable explanation or solution was provided.
After another 25–30 minutes, she finally brought our lunch boxes back. They were completely dirty and placed inside a dirty bag.
