Hotel Porto Roca

Stunning! The location couldn’t be better. Very friendly staff. You need to be able to walk up a big hill but they also have a small shuttle. Comfy beds. Loved it!

Other than one hiccup in the beginning, we had a wonderful four day stay at Porto Roca. The hiccup was when you arrive, be sure to contact the hotel in advance and get the porter van to pick you up to take up the hill.
The room was wonderful and had a very large private deck to enjoy the sun when not exploring the town in the trails.
The room is very quiet. We slept very well.
The location was wonderful For access to the town and to the trails. Walking between the main town and the hotel up the hill was
easy and a nice stroll.
We had a truly wonderful evening in the hotel restaurant with the rain outside, making it seem like we were enjoying dinner in a rainforest.
The breakfast were wonderful, and there was a lot to choose from.
Hotel Porto Roka very much exceeded our expectations.

A great hotel in Monterosso. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The pool was beautiful and a nice addition after hiking. The property is very close to the blue trail. The hotel is uphill from town but they have a shuttle to take you to/from the bottom of the hill. A must stay in Monterosso.

Thunderstorm set off building alarm in the middle of the night and it took staff a long time to figure out how to shut it down
Bathroom could use a nightlight for those nighttime visits

Simply outstanding location, facilities, and service.

I stayed in Room 306. My initial impression was that the room was somewhat small, as is common in many parts of Italy. That perception quickly changed once I opened the doors to my private balcony, which was a wonderful surprise and added so much to the experience.

The breakfast was exceptional, and the staff contributed greatly to the warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the property. Be sure to explore the grounds—there are so many hidden gems and beautiful spaces tucked away throughout Porto Roca.

The shuttle was great. Shortened the distance to the nearby stores and restaurants.

The only aspect that did not quite match the otherwise exceptional experience was the bedding. The sheets were a bit rough rather than silky smooth. That said, it did not interfere with my sleep, and the air conditioning worked exceptionally well, ensuring a very comfortable night’s rest.

I would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend Porto Roca to anyone visiting the area.

Beautiful hotel! Was a very quick trip for me, but thoroughly enjoyed my stay. All the extra amenities offered by hotel were great.

A-list stay. Can't think of anything they could do better. Have dinner at the restaurant -- best view of Monterosso. And have the crêpe "Giuseppe" for dessert. You will not regret it.

This hotel is absolutely stunning. The rooms were comfortable and the staff were friendly and so helpful. The drivers that took you up and down the steep hill were always available. The pool was warm and the breakfast that was included was delicious. We’ll definitely be back

Had the most excellent one night stay at Porta Roca. Just 5 min walk off the main historic town of Monterosso. The view from the rooms facing the sea is out of this world. Also from the pool area and the restaurant. So quiet and relaxed. Great staff and atmosphere. The mini shuttle van up and down is fun too. The hotel restaurant was the best dinner we had in 5 days in Italy. The pool club makes you want to skip the seightseeing of the Cingue terre or at least hurry back.

Hotel Porto Roca is very special. This has to be one of the best places I have stayed in Italy. The hotel sits above the charming town of Monteroso. You can see both the old town and new town, as well as incredible views of the coastline. I found the trek up the hill to be quite charming. But they do have a But they do have a shuttle that takes you up from the old port if you don’t feel like walking. And there are incredible views from the pool as well. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was very helpful with not only shuttles, taxis, but also restaurant recommendations and train schedules. If you are taking a trip to Cinque Terre and can afford it, I highly recommend this place. It is just off the trailhead so you can walk out of the hotel and get right onto the pathway towards Vernazza. I can’t wait to come back.

I cannot say enough about this beautiful hotel. We were fortunate to have a room with a terrace that overlooked the sea. It was gorgeous. The service was good and breakfast was wonderful! Spent an afternoon sitting by the pool and it was so relaxing. The shuttle back and forth down to the town was good if you were too tired to trek up the path. This was our favorite stay during our two week trip to Italy.

Loved the view we had from our room. The hotel is quiet and away from any crowds. The restaurant was very good. The staff very nice and helpful for anything we needed.

This place is beautiful….not only the city but the Hotel grounds are beautiful. Everything here was amazing from start to finish. Love the breakfast and dinner. Our room was nice and the pool and bar was clean, comfortable and great!

We visited Hotel Porto Roca for our honeymoon and it was the best decision we have ever made. The views alone were absolutely perfect, but the Hotel added extremely helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and plenty of great services. Every guest we talked with wished they could stay at the hotel longer.

The hotel is perfectly located in Cinque Terre, and it was very easy for us to visit all five of the villages. We 100% will be back, and will be bringing as many friends as possible!
