Hotel Porto Roca

This hotel is so amazing. It is beautiful, clean, spacious with wonderful views. There is a friendly shuttle driver to take you down the hill to town (although it is walkable, just up a hill). The pool area was so great and clean. There was a nice pool bar with great drinks and snacks. This was our favorite place in our entire trip to Italy. Everyone was so friendly. Would 100% go again.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It is rather expensive but is a very lovely place to stay for a special get-away. The views are spectacular and the infinity pool looks directly out over the Ligurian sea. Breakfast is included with your room fee. The food and service are excellent and the view from the open-air terrace is so wonderful in the morning. The hotel is located atop a high cliff and is accessible from the main street into Monterosso. Hotel Porta Roca has 24 hour shuttle service up and down the hillside and you should absolutely use the shuttle as the climb is brutal. I rented a corner room with a balcony for a slightly lower fee. The room was not very big but it was meticulously clean. There wasn't a smudge anywhere on the walls, etc. During the summer the balconies are very hot as the hotel faces west. We never used the balcony for sitting but we did dry our swimsuits, etc. If you travel in the cooler season, the balcony would be nice but we did not use it in July. We usually kept our draperies and rolling metal shutters closed when we were not in the room to help protect our room from the heat. Air conditioning was able to keep our room a pleasant temperature.

Hotel Porto Roca, great location, hotel shuttle will take you to town center, beautiful views, great pool, & scrumptious breakfast.

We were really looking forward to our stay here, after touring a lot of Italy staying mostly in 5-star hotels. We knew this was only 4-star, but how bad could it be given its position and given there are no 5-star hotels anywhere in Cinqe Terre and this is the only 4-star hotel. Sometimes the service was excellent (ie. at the restaurant - where food and views were also amazing), but the front desk really let the whole side down.

Best Italy resort hotel we've stayed in, swimming pool amazingly clean and neat; private beach benches (no service at beach tho); Big Shoutout to Nicola and his team in the gorgeous restaurant, especially our waiter Albert, very attentive to details and remembered our preferences, Hotel Porto Roca please give them a promotion or even extra bonus for the year! Staffs are what makes the hotel prestigious ❤️ Thank you for hosting us.

Amazing stay at the Porto Roca. Service and food were awesome. Our room was incredible, we stayed in the Garden Suite (room 509) which was absolutely perfect. Had a private patio with chaise lounge chairs and an extra table and chairs. Super close to the pool also.

Getting to the hotel from the train station was the only hard part of our stay. Once we figured out the shuttle it was smooth sailing.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our dinner out on the patio the first night was amazing both in taste and scenery. Breakfast was hard to beat not only in the many dishes offered but how tasty everything was.
Our room was very comfortable and we looked out over the bay. My only suggestion would be blackout curtains.
I must admit we felt pampered and special just being here…thank you for giving us that extra special treatment, it made celebrating our 46th anniversary even more memorable.

This is an amazing hotel, with spectacular views and friendly and helpful staff. The courtesy shuttle to and from the hotel is particularly helpful as the road from the town to the hotel is very steep (especially with bags). You arrange the shuttle by simply calling the hotel. We had dinner at the restaurant one night with jaw-dropping views of the coastline and exceptional food.

Absolutely fantastic hotel! Pietro and Sabine at the reception were wonderful and helped us out of a difficult situation when our driver to France didn't show up. They arranged a new ride for us on the spot! In the outstanding restaurant Nicola and Jarek were phenomenal! This is the best hotel in Cinque Terre! Can't wait to go back!

Probably nicest hotel in Cinque Terre. The service was awesome, the pool was so pleasant with a great view, the shuttle to/from the bottom of the hotel made it a perfect trip. Rooms were very nice with sufficient closets and drawers. Bathroom clean and staff was excellent. Definitely a 5 star experience. Dinner was delicious and breakfasts were great. Highly recommend!!

The garden suite far exceeded our expectations! The private patio, views of the sea, separate living and bedroom, two bathrooms!! We booked last minute and had to switch rooms mid-stay, the staff made it seamless. The pool area and bar were such a welcome reprieve after a long day in the heat. Don’t let the hill scare you, a mini shuttle will take you up and down. The breakfast buffet and terrace were also beautiful.

This hotel service is amazing. The restaurant staff is friendly and caters to your every need. We felt like their special guests every time we entered, for breakfast every morning and several dinner dates. Highly recommend! Amazing people! Grazie mille!!!!!!!

This is the only hotel to stay in the whole of Cinque Terre. Amazing facilities and location. We loved the friendly service, quality food and drinks. A must visit!

The views from this hotel are unbeatable. The pool was amazing, we lounged every day. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay here.

This is a lovely hotel with great service, a truly special place. Wonderful breakfast, beautiful pool, and complementary beach club access. Incredible views and just removed enough from the hustle of the crowds, a few mins walk away. Highly recommended.

Hotel Porto Roca was a lovely place to stay on our honeymoon! The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. The room/hotel was clean and comfortable, and had a fantastic view over Monterosso. The food at the hotel restaurant was also one of our favourite meals in Italy. Would definitely recommend!

Everything about this place is perfection. It takes effort to get there which prevents mass tourism from being at your front step. It’s gorgeous at every turn, the staff is incredible, the restaurant food amazing, the pool side drinks and food are refreshing, and you can’t beat an infinity pool. Don’t miss the hidden trail below the pool to cliff jump! It’s easy to access, safe, and so fun! We would absolutely come back here and recommend to friends.

The setting is amazing. The staff is incredible. Nothing but great things to say about our experience at Hotel Porto Roca. I even got the maitre d' to email me on how to get bottles of the incredible wine they serve that is made right there in Monterosso. Above and beyond is an appropriate title for this review.

Amazing experience, fantastic service, perfect location. As soon as we checked in the hotel, we knew it was a great place. The entire hotel staff was top notch and super helpful and friendly, and made us feel special. The location is up a steep hill but the shuttle service was quick and easy to request if you don't want to walk. Being secluded on the hill was perfect for views and feeling secluded from the crowds. The pool and pool bar was amazing, and the private beach was excellent touch as well. Dinner and breakfast are well worth attending as well. We will definitely be staying here again the next time we're in Monteresso!

You just can't beat the view! I believe most if not all of the rooms have a nice view of the water. The pool is a fantastic feature and we spent all three of our afternoons in it after taking guided hikes all morning. The water is a bit cool but refreshing. The pool bar staff were all very nice and provided great service. They have a small shuttle bus that can take you back and forth from the main area. You cannot bring a car up there yourself so if you are driving you must have to leave your vehicle in another location. The breakfast was delicious and came with a view! Many of the rooms have a private deck which we enjoyed. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was quiet, no noise complaints.
