Such friendly staff, great location and food,
Nothing
Staff friendly, but overworked. Only one woman on reception and people were queuing up both to check in and get a pool key. She took one phone call and they were queuing round the corner within minutes.
Bed was comfy.
Room had a wall right in front of the window, so it was like being in a windowless room. Above the wall were the wheelie bins. The bin lorry came at 5.30am to empty the bins, then at 7am the deliveries started rolling in on loud trolleys and I couldn't get back to sleep. I'd gone to bed at 12.30 and set my alarm for 8.30am, but in the end got 5 hours sleep and was knackered, which ruined the next day. Terrible location for a room and really not worth what I paid at all.
Excellent location for beach and town
Parking available even though hotel full
Bed comfortable and room large
Fan in room helped with heat
Swimming pool
Grounds were lovely and have own exit/entrance down by the lido so didn't have to walk on the main road to get to the beach
Bar open all night
Bathroom a bit tired but everything worked fine
Friendly staff, location, swimming pool and hotel gardens.
Accepting the current hot weather, the room was uncomfortably hot and fans provided didn't help much. Hotel should consider air conditioning.
On occasions the receptionist was not available due to other duties, staff shortage?
The location, staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and beds comfortable. The food was very good. The pool was also excellent, beautifully cleaned and maintained.
The cleanliness was not up to standard with some dirty marks on the carpet, inner doors and around toilet roll holders however the basin, bath and toilet were all clean and bedding fresh and clean. There were a couple of easy chairs in the room that also looked a bit shabby with a rip in the outer material of one of them.
Good hotel with lovely gardens. Good access to the beach. Bus stops outside the hotel and easy access to the railway station
The room service was poor. My parents and our room was not cleaned with no replacement towels or toilet paper or bins emptied. But besides that we had a good break
Location. Easy to stroll to the promenade. Very large tranquil gardens. Good breakfast
No bottled water in the room. No fridge in the room. 4.00 check in is a long wait
Breakfast and the attitude of the staff
such a long walk to our room andc no lift at that end of the building
Convenient location near bus stop and railway station and just walk through the gardens to the sea front.
Traffic noise from nearby main road.
Lovely staff, a beautiful setting, close to walks in the countryside, lots of amenities. But if you want to stay in the hotel the grounds are tidy, there are lots of different places to sit (inside and out), the Decor is nice. A nice pool to swim, a nice little room with a pool table in.
Due to the heat it's very hot, unfortunately the windows only open a little due to health and safety, but this made it a little uncomfortable.
Thought waitress could have done with some help.
Staff smoking under the window
The location, grounds were excellent. A few of the staff were first class.
Some staff are in need of training.
They looked and acted like they were not happy in their work, this was not just out view and number of other guests made the same comments to me.
Size of the club family room with balcony overlooking the gardens and the sea view.
Good breakfast
Beds were uncomfortable.
Balcony needed a good cleaning.
Food at dinner mediocre
Location was good , breakfast was nice and staff very good especially the girl in the breakfast room
Expensive for what it was , room was ok but nothing great , bathroom wasn’t very clean around the shower screen and vents really dusty
Location was convenient
After 2.5 hours talking to booking.com and 5 phone calls to the hotel I arrived to be told I'd booked two rooms instead of one. The cutlery and crockery was dirty. The breakfast was cold, over cooked and the same every day. Room service was just clean towels. Nothing more.
Far too few staff, bar not always attended and hugely expensive. Never felt welcome or wanted. Creaking floor boards in room above kept me awake until they went to sleep. Room was not what I'd asked for. Overlooked the bins and main road. Would definitely not recommend this hotel or area. Maybe try shaldon.
