Pros:

Great position with it's own private gardens and a nice pool. Staff were helpful and the English breakfast was a good quality. Double room was comfortable clean and well furnished.

Cons:

Rooms on the front of the property had some smells from the drains. No hair drier in the room.

Pros:

The gardens were a delight. Nice sitting out area. Good breakfast and evening meal.

Cons:

Unable to open windows fully at night and as there was no air con it was stifling. Had the fan on all night but did little to lower the temperature in the room.

Nice but needs attention.
Pros:

Nice location and gardens kept up well with added bonus of access down to beach.

Cons:

Parts are looking worn out, needs some investment in areas and room as rather basic. Paint needed in many areas. Was stains all over bathroom wall. Shower was a poor output.

Lovely traditional hotel with friendly staff.
Pros:

Lovely traditional hotel with a beautiful garden and an easy 5 minute walk to the beach. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Good value.

Cons:

Breakfast wasn’t as good as dinner and the room was a bit tired. The swimming pool was a great facility but surprisingly shallow even at the “deep” end!

Could have been better
Pros:

The location is stunning with the surrounding gardens ans also beaches within walking distance. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Cons:

Our balcony has not been cleaned.
Also, no privacy on the balcony as I think 3 family rooms share the same one. There is no proper separation between the balcony part of the rooms. This is also a safety issue as my neighbor left their doors open in the heat, and anyone could walk in, really. ( photo shared)

Cons:

No room service on the second day and had to chase for room service. Shower curtain was rancid with mould over it and smelt.

Lovely location. Great staff brilliant for dogs
Pros:

The Cliffden is a great hotel in a wonderfull location and gorgeous gardens.

Cons:

The room!
The room was on the front of the hotel facing the road so very noisy. But the main complaint is that for such a large room it had a tiny double bed! Too small for two to sleep comfortably.

Cons:

Sadly the quality of evening meals was not great, clearly all frozen food not freshly made. I had the pasta and meatballs and couldn't eat all of it as still frozen in middle. Shame. Breakfast was good tho

Perfect!
Pros:

The location and the beautiful grounds exceeded expectations. The whole set-up was perfect for our needs. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable beds. Generous breakfasts. I even dared to swim in the hotel pool after several years of not swimming for various reasons and this has given me confidence to get fitter with more swimming and aqua activities.
We definitely hope to return to Cliffden before long.
