Eka Hotel Nairobi

Wonderful stay—the best experience ever!

We used this hotel as a stopover before a 5‑day safari, and while it served its basic purpose, the overall experience left quite a bit to be desired. The property has the feel of a corporate transit hub—functional but impersonal—and clearly geared toward short‑term guests rather than repeat visitors. That focus on maximising revenue shows, and at times it becomes hard to overlook.

The location is far from ideal. The hotel sits beside a major junction on the ring road, and the constant hum of traffic is unavoidable. After an overnight flight from London, we simply wanted to relax and later visit the Giraffe Centre, which was excellent and absolutely worth doing.

In the evening we booked dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant (fun evening ). Not wanting to wander unfamiliar streets, we asked the concierge to arrange a taxi. He quoted $25, and being unfamiliar with the city layout, we accepted. The outbound journey took around 25 minutes along rough, dark back roads, so at first the price seemed reasonable. However, the return trip took less than five minutes, making it painfully clear that we had been significantly overcharged—almost certainly through a combination of an inflated hotel “rate” and an unnecessary detour.

This kind of practice leaves a sour taste and undermines trust. For a hotel catering to international travellers, greater transparency and integrity would go a long way.

The staff were very attentive and the service was excellent. They were very helpful, friendly plus the food was great, the breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of breakfast options including delicious omelettes, fruit, pastries and much more. The location is great close to the airport and attractions like the giraffe sanctuary and bead factories. I felt safe in Nairobi and we caught Ubers everywhere. The room was vertigo comfortable, clean and well designed.

In particolare, l'attenzione dello chef che è venuto a sincerarsi di persona per garantire dei pasti senza glutine e senza contaminazione (sia pranzo che cena e colazione). Piscina e patio molto carini. Ottimo punto di appoggio per partire poi per il Safari

Great experience. Staff was extremely nice and efficient. Room was spotless. Plenty of amenities - restaurants, wellness center, garden area, business and conference space, gift shop. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a full service hotel close to the airport.

Eka is a beautiful hotel in the hustle bustle of Nairobi. It was a sanctuary with a beautiful pool, patio dining, gardens and dining in the garden as well as their plush restaurants and bars. good souvenir shop and the service and security are excellent! Do stay there!

We enjoyed a 1 night stopover before going on safari, it was quick (about 20mins) from the airport and was a very comfortable overnight stop. It is right next to the Nairobi National Park.

It’s well presented on arrival, it’s well maintained and looks very clean.

Good hotel, clean and with a good ambiance. Professional Staff. Coffee could be better. Close to the national park and Train station

The hotel is quite pleasant, local enough to the international airport. Food was good, most of the staff polite and friendly. Some and grumpy and not friendly in the restaurant area.
The WiFi in the room was very disappointing, it required a technician, who couldn’t fix it. The tv signal was poor which meant pixelation was frequent during programmes.
I would suggest management take an interest in WiFi issues as it’s a must have for most people travelling for business.
