Long steep hilltop resort overlooking the town so do not try to walk here with luggage. Three pools at multi levels and multiple terraces to look over the town and sunsets. I first stayed in chalet 406 then was moved to 402.
Room does not have a fridge but the hammock was nice and fully enclosed with netting for bugs. You will also get birds or owls sitting on the thatched roof at nite to give an outdoor feel. I could not walk the long hill up/down each day so would get tours to drop me in the town centre.
I did not have breakfast as my tours kept picking at 7am. Right next to the resort is Cahal Pech archaeological site which should not be overlooked. The foot of the long steep road are supermarkets and restaurants. Short walk to town centre for more shops and services. Hot water takes time to arrive.
My issue was the erratic wifi. Each chalet does not have its own router so in room 406 the tv would not connect. They have internet tv only not regular channels. I was staying for six nights and erratic phone connection and no tv was not what I paid for. They moved me to room 402 which had its own router and tv worked to connect to youtube but still erratic phone connection.
You can book any of the tours with them and all tour companies will pickup. Each day were people from the resort on tours I had booked online. They also arranged airport return shuttle.
Tv or wifi might not be a big deal for everyone. I would stay here again otherwise
Location - On the hilltop above San Ignacio very close to Cahal Pech site. Lovely views however noise travels up the valley.
Property - Mixture of rooms & cabanas. Motel style. Some awful sculptures & some really lovely landscaping that attracted wildlife including woodpeckers.
Room - We had a zinc roof cabana. Light & airy although very limited space round bed. Large porch with great views enclosed by insect screens was great with chairs & a hammock. 2 sinks helpful too. Cleanliness on main items good however needed deeper clean & more attention.
Food - Great restaurant setting with views, cocktails very good, large menu, food ok.
Staff - Very mixed some brilliant & some disinterested and not proactive. Wendy especially good. Breakfast items often run out. Staff hanging around not looking to help. Poor reception welcome .
We had an adorable thatch roof cabana with a gorgeous view of the city. Screened in porch, hammock and surprisingly comfy chairs. The restaurant and bar was beautiful, especially at night. Food was great as was the service. Very special thank you to the sweet bar staff and to Wendy for taking such good care of us at breakfast. We will miss you guys!! 😊🍍
Great location for Mayan ruins and other outdoor activities. Easy walk to town. I was very impressed with the Staff. Courteous, kind, extremely helpful. Amber, Brenda, Cynthia, and Joe top notch, also a thanks to Elias in the restaurant. Great amenities throughout. I have to admit the 10 different kinds of Cheese Cake were to die for.
Very pretty resort that looks over San Ignacio. The restaurant on site has a great breakfast buffet and then lunch and dinner from the menu. Rooms a chilly so bring an extra blanket. Showers lack hot water so don’t expect to stay in there long. The staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond!
Absolutely horrendous experience. Would absolutely stay away. Rooms are dark and dingy. No service at all. People are friendly but things don’t move at all. Ruined the entire vacation. Food takes an hour after ordering. 1 chef to handle the vacation traffic. DO NOT TRAVEL. ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. We made a mistake but you don’t have to. Not worth ruining your vacation over.
Spent 3 nights at Cahal Pech Resort and I am very impressed
with everything this resort has to offer. The staff was more than accommodating and even helped us deal with some unexpected car issues. We had individual cabins on the hillside with screened in porch overlooking San Ignacio with a comfortable bed, full bathroom and amazing views. With great dining on site, pools and full bar, it was so relaxing to come back to after a full day of touring knowing everything we needed was right there. Highly recommend!
The property and view was beautiful, the service and staff was amazing. Our only complaints were that the mattress was not very comfortable and there was trash on and around the property. There were a few maintenance issues with the room but those did not effect functionality. The pools were clean and cool. The food at the restaurant was super good but expensive. The location made the hotel quiet but the transportation more difficult. Highly recommend staying here!
We had a security scare while staying there. A man opened the door of our room, pushed it open, and started to walk in without even knocking. When he saw me standing there, he said sorry and quickly left. The hotel front desk admitted he was someone associated with the hotel, vaguely explained that he was about to do something and agreed that what he did was inexcusable. In addition, there was no "Do Not Disturb" sign available, so I had no way of preventing hotel personnel from entering the room while I was gone. There was no safe to lockup valuables. The room had three beds but only one blanket. There was no coffee service, water or even cups in the rooms. The room had good-sized porch that was without even chairs rendering it pretty much useless. The on and off of the mini-refrigerator is rather startling in the middle of the nights.
Loved staying here! Beautiful location, friendly staff, wonderful place to stay! I’ll definitely be back 💖
Very nice except the mosquitos be sure you have off or something for it
Loved the property. Staff was very friendly.
Only problem i had was pool wasn’t clean. They need to maintenance the pools better keeping them clean & getting new pool furniture.
The rooms were good but the lack of detail is what would make me think about another resort.
We had very nice stay . Foods are very great and cocktails are so good . Good view from balcony towards ocean . It has everything what we were looking for .
Definitely want to go back there again.
Pretty nice. Located on top of a hill so walking up there is a workout.
Amazing view of Cayo ❤️
Beautiful hotel with amazing views from the cabanas. My room was clean and it was wonderful to wake up with the sunrise each morning. Definitely need to call a taxi thought to get to downtown San Igancio.
Ok
Beautiful scenery lookis over the valley and over Sam Ignacio and Santa Elena towns. Is a really scenic place.
It was a last minute booking because we needed an extra night after a flight mishap and it was a great option for the price! Very scenic view from cabanas and pool/restaurant area and great food as well
