Het hotel wordt gerund door een familie en heeft een goede atmosfeer. Ook het restaurant is goed evenals de andere voorzieningen. Gunstig gelegen om de Serra da Estrela te bezoeken.

Gostamos simplesmente de tudo! Lugar encantador, com pessoas muito acolhedoras. A vista que se tem do restaurante para as montanhas é muito linda!

Excellent.
Pros:

Lovely clean, comfortable and spacious room. Excellent bathroom and enjoyed having a balcony too. Staff were very friendly and helpful and restaurant good too. Didn't use the pool but facilities appeared good.

A really nice property, great staff and facilities.
Pros:

Love the property, staff and location - Manteigas is a beautiful spot and I think this property is a standout. The room was very comfortable and the pool was really nice. Reaturant was also excellent for Portuguese specialities.

Cons:

The only thing that I would have liked was a small fridge and kettle in the room but on this I'm probably splitting hairs.

A haven in the mountains
Pros:

Hotel Berne was such a nice surprise. The room was modern, quiet, and very clean; the beds were comfortable, the view of Manteigas and the mountains from our private balcony was so peaceful; the staff and two brothers whose family runs the hotel were friendly and helpful; the location was within (rather hilly) walking distance from the center of town and the Burel factory (which has a very interesting tour if you're interested in all things wool); and our dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were delicious. (It also has an attractive pool area, but we didn’t swim.) So, basically, top marks for everything. We would definitely return.

Pros:

A hotel that exceeded my expectations given the price paid. The room was comfortable and had a balcony which had a great view over the town and valley. There was a good choice for breakfast and I particularly liked the cherry jam. We had dinner both nights of our stay - again a good choice and good sized portions at a fair price.
There is an attractive pool area.
A good location for exploring the Estrella but be warned that if travelling by car some of the highlights are reached by dirt road.
