In general we were very well looked after by the family that owns Poggio Antico. Particularly Francesco who was a great help. The pool area is very nice, decently comfortable sun loungers and more than enough space for the number of guests. View from our room upstairs and around the pool is really good, especially at sunset.
I would recommend staying here but manage expectations a little: I would view as a very nice 3 star hotel given the food situation as below.
We were surprised to discover the food was vegetarian only - we had lunch one day which was nice, from the hotel’s garden, but still not what we expected. I didn’t expect a 4 star hotel to only serve dinner (vegetarian only) just two nights a week and otherwise no food service outside of breakfast and 2hrs for lunch.
This meant we ended up eating out a lot more than intended. Thankfully shuttle made this very easy though a back and forth for lunch and dinner one day was not taken too well and we were told it’s very expensive for the hotel - we felt like we were being a pain which wasn’t the experience we were after.

The staff was wonderful, property lovely and we enjoyed the peaceful environment. Excellent breakfast and coffee service, I loved my morning cappuccino. The bed was comfortable, and water pressure was good.
The only drawback is the location - which is also part of the allure. I wasn’t expecting the shuttle schedule to be as structured as it was… you couldn’t request a ride to Forio, you had to go on one of the scheduled drop off or pick up times.

If you are coming from Naples, 1000% recommend to book pick up service from Naples.
It’s actually cheaper.

Beautiful, quiet
Très belle expérience, le personnel était adorable, le petit déjeuner très sympa et la vue depuis la chambre avec terrasse était incroyable ! L'hôtel en lui même et très jolie, dommage que la météo nous ai pas permis de profiter des extérieur.
Ca demande un peu de logistique pour se déplacer car l'hôtel est percher sur les hauteurs de l'île mais heureusement il y avait un service de navette très efficace !
Tutto, la struttura meravigliosa elegante e allora stesso tempo ti fa sentire a casa. Piscina e idromassaggio top, giardino e vista spettacolare. Colazione buonissima e soprattutto i proprietari gentilissimi e accoglienti

The staff were exceptional. From Alezandro, to the drivers & Elena who did the breakfast. So good! The inclusive breakfasts were great as well. The staff helped make my daughters
wedding an exceptional experience. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart 🙏
That it was isolated from main Forio howver this was compensated by the complimentsry hotel shuttle when available.
