We stayed on a whim and got a cool deal that included our meals (which are incredible buffets -- if they are included in your room price - can be pricy if you have to add it to the nightly cost). The hotel is definitely a bit of a throwback, and the rooms are old school. We chose to use the futons on tatami mats instead of sleeping on the western-style beds, which were not super comfortable. The place is so much fun, though, as its quirks are also its charms. The ski-on, ski-off nature of the place is magical, and the onsen is top-notch. Would love to come back someday for a future trip.

Pros:

The hotel is situated in the mountains and features a ski slope with ski rentals, perfect for beginners. There's also a snow play area for young children and families, and indoor and outdoor onsen (hot springs). It's ideal for relaxation and includes breakfast and dinner – everything you need in one place.

The slope is easily accessible. BF and dinner were excellent, nice french toast and roasted beef. Quite isolated.
