Centrally located hotel with large rooms
Pros:

Older, centrally located hotel. Quiet. A HUGE room. The breakfast is a basket full of different foods - good for a picnic. The location cannot be beat.

Cons:

You pay for the location.

Seguramente la ubocacion es su punto fuerte, y la amabilidad de Pilar!

Cons:

La cama era bastante incomoda, dado que se undia de la parte central. El hecho de tener que pedir el papel wc, la limpieza de la habitación o que vaciaran las basuras me da mas de un airbnb que de un hotel. Como por ejemplo tener una máquina de cafe pero que no vengan re puestas las capsulas es tener algo que solo ocupa espacio en la habitación. La habitación que nos dieron claramente no sale como en las perspectivas de las fotos.. es mucho mas pequeña y daba a un patio interior, sin vistas al canal.

Pros:

Sehr gute Lage, sehr großes und schön eingerichtetes Zimmer, sehr gutes Bett. Das Bad groß, gut beleuchtet, angenehmes Duschgel und Seife. Nur Bodylotion fehlt. Kann die zum Teil schlechten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen.

Cons:

Achtung, das Frühstück MUSS am Abend vorbestellt werden!

Great location but wouldn't stay again.
Pros:

The location was excellent however the stairs to room 15 and in room 15...not so much

Cons:

The reception area smelled like their cat. I do love cats but it would have been nice to know they had one in the hotel as my husband is allergic.

Great location with canal view
Pros:

Comfortable bed and view of the canal. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Loved the resident cat! Also loved the complimentary happy hour drink and snacks.

Cons:

The room was slightly worn, dusty and dirty. Needed a thorough cleaning.

Lage war gut.
Pros:

Bequemes Bett. Personal war nett.

Cons:

Vom Zimmer hat man jeden gehört, der die Treppe hochgekommen ist.
Wir waren 4 Nächte und das Frühstück würde ich nicht mehr wählen, da es 4 Tage den selben Frühstückskorb gab. Ausserdem ist der Kaffee sowieso am Automaten gratis.

Great location but low value for money
Pros:

The location was excellent, and the staff were friendly, but our three-bedroom accommodation quality was very disappointing for the very high price.

Cons:

There was a strong animal/urine smell in the main hotel hallway throughout our stay. We suspect it came from the cat that stays at the hotel or from mice. We saw a mouse in our room on one occasion, and after we became concerned, we found other reviews mentioning mice. The accommodation was worn and needed maintenance: for example, the door handle fell off when we entered. The shower had almost no water pressure. The heating was controlled centrally and could not be adjusted in the room, leaving it excessively hot. Staff switched this off for us after we asked. Linen was often piled in the hallways, where cleaners were often working. The stairs down to the bedrooms are very steep with no handrail and would be unsuitable for elderly guests or young children. We appreciate that older Amsterdam buildings have their quirks, but these issues went well beyond that. Our concerns are with the condition and management of the accommodation, not the staff.

Cons:

If I had to nitpick - You can hear the hallway pretty easily but it wasn’t ever an issue. Steep narrow staircase but that’s typical of older Euro hotels.
