The staff were friendly and the foyer looked nice and the Deputy Manager had the courtesy to seek me out and hear my complaints.
Pretty much everything.
I quote some words from their website about the standard of room that i booked - "Rooms in our newer wing are decorated in restful, natural colours and textures. Described as city centre havens perched above the streets of Galway, our standard rooms range from 20m² - 22m² with..."
We entered the main foyer with as lovely staircase but were quickly ushered down a side corridor and into a small lift in a side wing which housed our room.
The room was dark, the view (there was no view promised) was over the inner yard area housing pigeons, seagulls, ducts and so on - thoroughly unpleasant.
The room was scruffy and the carpet marked. The bed was uncomfortable and housed within a weird timber frame and the bed itself was propped up on sawn timber screwed together.
The bathroom seemed okay until on closer inspection, the shower tray base was grimy, the mastic sealant had been applied by a blind man and the hand held shower attachment would not stay in the holder and so had to be put on the deck.
The shower valve controls did provide hot water but it needs renewing, given that the slightest turn made the water go from hot to very hot or freezing cold.
The breakfast was okay but i particularly enjoyed my spoon which was covered in yesterdays dried egg - who would think to lay the table with that!
We paid £330 through booking.com - do you even know where you are sending clients - but i could have booked the same room that night for £229 online.
My bad but value for money this place is not.
