The view. The exterior. Impressive. Exactly as expected.
Upon check in , I was informed that the advertised breakfast was not actually included. So I paid more. The “upkeep” gave off cheap flip house as opposed to elegant old castle. Based on the menu in our room, we decided to eat in the castle. The dining room was reminiscent of a school cafeteria, no castle vibe whatsoever. No sign that any attempt had even been made. Menu at the table did not have the items our room menu had and while we were waiting for service, the registrar came over and said “oooo, there’s 2 of you. I only charged you for 1 for breakfast”. Last straw. Now I’m mad. Totally ruined my stay. Nothing was as promised.
Nice and quiet.
Stuffy, windows would not open
From outside a lovely building and staff were excellent
There was nothing of Scotland or decorative excellence or antique inside. The named restaurant 1874 implied something special. It was not much more than a modern cafeteria setting. The floorboards in our room creaked with every step and continued noise from other rooms was disappointing.
Un vrai château écossais.
La vie de château
Bon restaurant
Lovely room, good restaurant and bar, and great staff
Location was convenient since I had a car, nice bar and restaurant
Someone came in my room, turned off fan(it was hot) and took towels i had used but didn't replace them, felt weird to discover that... and why?? I was only there 2 nights
Castle was nice
Service was just good
This hotel has a function room. Very noisy guests leaving late at night.

Wonderful old style but well refurbished room with 4 poster bed. Great view of the Wallace monument.
Fabulous old baronial castle.
Very friendly staff especially the restaurant waiter who gave us sword show!
Loved the pool table in the bar.
Front view is over an industrial/residential area.
Breakfast poor, dinner good but pre packed salad inedible.
Bar poorly stocked and often had to wait long time for service
