Very stylish and peaceful hotel at the heart of Basel
Pros:

Very stylish rooms, water-coffee and super delicious apples were free on each floor_+ super comfy bedding:) the location was also great. The staff were very nice as well, they helped me find train tickets to Germany.

Cons:

The restaurant and the bar which were the main reasons I chose this hotel were both closed on sunday :(

Pros:

Très bel hôtel, soigné dans le moindres détails.
Nous avons déploré la fermeture du bar et du restaurant : ne même pas pouvoir prendre un verre sur place nous a géné.
Des travaux m'ont réveillée à 8h30, j'aurais apprécié pouvoir profiter du confort et de la décoration de la chambre

Cons:

dans un hôtel de ce standing, il me semble inconcevable de ne pas pouvoir prendre un café, un thé ou un verre un jour férié

Ein einzigartiges Hotel in einem neu interpretierten Stil der 1920er Jahre.
Pros:

Das Hotel Volkshaus Basel hat eine außerordentlich angenehme und entspannte Atmosphäre. Die individuelle Einrichtung verbindet modernes, schlicht-elegantes Design mit dem Stil der 1920er Jahre, aus denen das Gebäude stammt. Trotz des puristischen Charakters der eher sparsamen Möblierung fehlt es nicht an Behaglichkeit und Komfort.
Wir hatten eine Junior Suite gemietet, die geräumig und lichtdurchflutet war und viel Privatsphäre bot. Der Blick ging auf den hübschen, baumbestandenen Innenhof.
Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral in einem urbanen Teil Kleinbasels. Es sind nur wenige Schritte zum Rhein, über eine Rheinbrücke in die Altstadt Großbasels und zur Tram, die wir dank der mit der Hotelbuchung verbundenen Basel-Card ohne zusätzliche Kosten benutzen konnten.
Der Service im Hotel war sehr engagiert, effektiv und freundlich. Die Junior Suite wurde jeden Tag unaufgefordert perfekt in Ordnung gebracht, was nach unseren Erfahrungen auch in guten Hotels keine Selbstverständlichkeit ist. Gern genutzt haben wir die kleine Teeküche mit Kaffeemaschine und Spender für gekühltes Sprudelwasser, die es auf jeder Etage gibt.
Auch das Restaurant und die Bar haben wir gern besucht. Die Qualität des Speise- und Getränkeangebots, das schicke Ambiente und die nette Bedienung haben uns sehr gefallen.

Cons:

Es gab nichts zu beanstanden. Zwar bleibt nicht aus, dass es bei geöffnetem Fenster im Zimmer zu hören ist, wenn sich die Besucher von Veranstaltungen oder Gäste des Restaurants im Innenhof unterhalten. Das haben wir aber nicht als Störung empfunden, zumal wir selbst das Glück hatten, an einem warmen Frühlingsabend im Innenhof lauschig speisen zu können.
