The environment

Toni was such a lovely person to run into at the check in counter. It was 2am and I was dead tired but somehow she managed to brighten my mood tremendously. The warm welcome, the clean rooms, the premium location, and the cheap and easy parking made this stay perfect. This is our second time staying at this location and when we come back to Chicago I fully plan on staying here again.

Location and view

Great location and beautiful building. Courteous staff members, especially thanks to Steven who helped with amenity requests.

With that said, there was a small issue with my room. The bedding and towels had off putting smells. It’s not dirty or disgusting but more like a mild petroleum type of smell. Looks like it’s been washed but their washing machine needs some maintenance.

Great property. Cool historic building. Staff was great. Checked in as a globalist and given a huge room on top floor with vaulted ceilings. Offered a drink and snack from the market as globalist welcome gift. Breakfast is typical Hyatt house fare. There is a bar that serves food until 10. Didn’t eat here this trip but have previously. It’s fine but would have gone somewhere else if there were options near by. Not much to walk to. Neighborhood isn’t the best, but property is nice.

The hotel was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room quality was fantastic. The room we rented had stove, cooking pans, bowls, plates, etc. I would highly suggest.

The good: very nice hotel beautifully restored from the former Cook County hospital in a great location convenient to United Center and other attractions.

The bad: extremely lax security allowing unruly and extremely loud guests (or maybe trespassers) to roam the halls late at night. Because of all the disturbances, I asked to change floors only to encounter the same issues the next night. Did not feel safe going out into the halls.

ADD SECURITY and evict those who are disturbing all the guests!!

Unique hotel near the university and the medical campus with excellent facilities and outstanding staff!! Large clean, modern rooms with comfortable beds supported by staff that is there to help in every respect.

This hotel is what I would call a facade renovation. the public areas (lobby, exterior) are updated to attract guests, while the guest rooms remain neglected and creepy looking, with the original windows sealed shut overseeing into the old crumbling balcony that is barely holding on for dear life.
I would never stay here again, the hotel is listed as 3 starts, but it's more like a Motel 6 vibe, 1 start at most. My favorite part about my stay was the easy parking lot, however at night I felt unsafe loading my car, questionable people around the parking lot and lobby. Never again.

The building was very different, and nice. Rooms were comfy, and the staff was kind and accommodating. The young lady with long reddish hair ( I apologize for the terrible description and for not remembering her name) saved the day for me by allowing me to check in early, and TC saved the night by helping me park my bus at 2 in the morning! Great staff all around. Housekeepers said hello with a smile. Overall, a great experience!
