As I have said before the food is very good, the view from the bar spectacular, but what makes it special is the staff, S special shout out to Giuseppe such a gentleman.
Just back from the most amazing week in Sorrento for my sister’s 40th birthday and so glad we chose this hotel which was recommended to us by a travel agent friend of my sister.
Everything about it was first class. The room, location, views, cleanliness, food, but most of all the staff in every area. They were just wonderful and so warm and friendly.
I’d arranged prior to arriving for our room to be done up as a surprise on my sister’s actual birthday and again, cannot thank you all enough for the effort put in.
We wish we’d had more chance to say proper goodbyes but were rushing to catch our transfer. We will miss you all and once again, thankyou so much for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful hotel, the staff were amazing. Definitely recommend if visiting Sorrento
Ansolirely stunning
When we arrived at Hotel Bristol, we could see it was a stunningly beautiful hotel, very close to the town centre. The holiday was value for money. Our room was spacious/ very clean with a view of Mount Vesuvius. The pool area is lovely with also a lounge area. The bar is beautiful along with the dining area. What made the hotel though, was the staff. They treated you like family. We were married during our time here and we had the chance to share this with the staff. Thank you to them who made our time in Sorrento amazing.
Everything was perfect. The hotel sits against a hill overlooking the ocean, and the views from the rooms are out of this world. We could hardly believe we were looking at something so beautiful from the balcony of our room.
The facilities themselves are great: the lobby is immense, the restaurants are great, the pool (although a little tricky to find) has an incredible view as well, and the rest of the hotel is just a majestic piece of architecture.
The staff was amazing from day one. We arrived in an Uber from the train station and they were waiting outside to help with our luggage, and the room they gave us was much bigger than we expected.
The quality of the breakfast buffet every morning was exactly like the rest of Italy: fresh, healthy, and tasty. The chef and staff are amazing (we especially liked the omelettes they make on the spot, they're to die for).
The restaurant staff is incredibly cordial, respectful, and helpful. We especially liked talking to Giuseppe, who has an extremely affable personality and easygoing vibe. We just wanted to keep talking to him and cracking jokes.
We had dinner one evening at one of the restaurants, and it was probably the most romantic dinner we've ever had, also made possible by the amazing kitchen staff.
Overall, our stay was perfect, and we even regretted a little not having booked a few more nights. We made a promise to come back again soon.
The only thing I would say could be somewhat improved is access to the town. The only way to get down was via the local bus or a €30 taxi, which even with our budget we thought was a bit exaggerated for a four-minute ride. It would be amazing if the hotel offered a shuttle to town every other hour.
Another thing we noticed was that we were almost the only LGBT couple in the hotel. While this is of course not the hotel's fault, it would have been nice to see a bit more diversity. It is important to note, though, that while we didn't see any other LGBT couples, the staff seemed more than thrilled to have us and always treated us with respect, love, and care.
Muy confortable y agradable! Con una vista privilegiada!
This was our first time visiting this hotel and we will definitely be back. The views from all of the restaurants and the bar are wonderful, our room was lovely, extrmely clean and we particularly enjoyed soaking in the views from our balcony. The food at the hotel is beautiful but what truly makes this hotel special is the staff, and how well they look after the guests. A special mention to Guiseppe, who absolutely made our holiday, taking care of us every meal time. We can’t wait to return already.
We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Hotel Bristol in Sorrento, and I honestly cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel so welcome. The location is absolutely fantastic, with breathtaking views across the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. We could never get tired of looking at those views.
We were also very fortunate to be upgraded to a lovely room, which was a wonderful surprise and made our stay even more special. Our room was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard, as was the rest of the hotel.
The food was excellent, and the service throughout our stay was outstanding. Every member of staff we met was polite, friendly and professional, and everyone genuinely went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after.
A special thank you to Giancarlo, the manager, who was lovely, welcoming and extremely helpful throughout our stay. He really made us feel valued and was always happy to help.
I would also like to thank Francesca and all the reception staff, who were always so welcoming and helpful. A special mention also goes to Giuseppe, our waiter, who was fantastic and always provided excellent service. There were so many other members of staff who were wonderful that I’m sorry I cannot remember everyone’s names, but every single person deserves recognition.
I was also celebrating my birthday during our stay, and the staff went above and beyond. I was very touched to be surprised with a bottle of Prosecco and a birthday cake. It was such a lovely and thoughtful gesture and made my birthday even more special.
This was our first stay at the Hotel Bristol, but we spoke to many guests who had returned several times, which really says a lot about the hotel and the service they provide.
Thank you to Giancarlo and the entire team at the Hotel Bristol for making our week in Sorrento so memorable. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sorrento.
We will definitely remember our stay very fondly. Grazie mille to all the wonderful staff at Hotel Bristol! ❤️🇮🇹
L'emplacement, le personnel est extraordinairement gentil, la qualité de service, et le coté retro de l'hotel. L'esprit familial est un point fort.

This was a very good hotel. Friendly staff. Good location close to town good view and not right in the busy centre. Rooms were ok very nice colour. Food was nice at breakfast try the orange and Lemon cake 🍋🍊🍰. Lunch and dinner was good too but small menu. Pool area was good pool was deep. Pretty gardens but the kids area outside could do with being maintained. Bar area good too. Nice quiet hotel up the cliff. Overall excellent. 👌
We came back yesterday from Hotel Bristol having had a really great 10 day holiday. The hotel is beautiful - rooms immaculately clean, bright and sunny, good air-conditioning. Our balcony with sea view was lovely with 2 very relaxing rocking loungers (we were on the 5th floor). The views from this hotel are amazing and tbh I could have sat and stared at the view the whole time, it was lovely having drinks at the bar in the evening or meals in any of the restaurants all with the same spectacular view. Breakfast was really good with a huge choice…egg station, cold cheese and hams, quiche, croissants, cake, yoghurts, fruit etc. Lunches were always good too….my tip is to change half-board dinners for lunch every day as we found the evening meal let down the hotel and hence my 4*s - strange menus, and food just not up to the standard you would expect. We much preferred having dinner in Sorrento centre where we could have a really good meal with 3 adults drinking for €120. I definitely recommend Trattoria Emilia in Marina Grande (don’t over order as portion sizes are huge but you can buy 1litre of house wine for 12€!), pizza at Il Cantina (€88 for really good pizzas and beers) and Chantecler’s Trattoria (family run and great food off the Main Street).
The gardens in this hotel are worth discovering, there are lots of little areas to sit and we enjoyed 3 days soaking up the sun on the loungers in the pretty garden area as we had it to ourselves, we would walk along to the pool and have a swim and then return to the garden. The pool and relax pool are great however despite the hotel saying not to reserve sunbeds people were doing this and not returning for up to 4 hours. Also we had a few families turn up a few days before we left with a lot of children and proceeded to play ball in the pool despite it being prohibited, they were eventually told by the hotel (maybe they need better signage).
The staff always get mentioned in other reviews and they were all very efficient and friendly and are a credit to the hotel. The bar staff were especially lovely.
All drinks got added to the room bill so our older teenagers could treat the hotel like an all inclusive which was important for us as 5* inclusive is our usual choice of holiday and they could come and go as they pleased. My oldest son would walk down to the English bar by himself and watch football with a beer….Sorrento centre appears to be a very safe area and we had no concerns about this at all.
This hotel was definitely overall the right choice for us, a short walk into the centre and with breathtaking views.
Fabulous. Wonderful Staff. Old world elegance - but not overly formal - breakfast and dinner service . We have to salute such a dedicated team - Luce, Vincenzo ( who is unfortunately retiring next year and we will miss him on our return ) , Carmine ( wine man !) Guiseppe, Raphaele , (Tall) Jean Luca ( with great teeth!) - all pf whom who made our experiences so special - as well as the many more staff who just paid great attention to detail. We booked half board - 5 choices for starters, main course and desert- food was just amazing . Great selection of wines - and a dedicated wine waiter. Option for lunch ( more causal ) but still wonderful table service - and outdoors overlooking the water Lovely nighttime bar - outdoor seating over the bay ( indoor too ) and live music at least every other night - we were treated to wonderful opera one evening, and piano on 2 other evenings. The ambience - and view - and service - was spectacular . Compliments to Andreas and Alex . Our room was just beautiful too - we booked a water view with terrace - and great housekeeping service
Beautiful hotel, staff are amazing! Views are perfect!
The hotel offers perfect sea views and is a short stroll (about 10/15 min) from the centre of Sorrento. The view from our suite was stunning. The staff are professional, efficient, and friendly. The breakfast consists of a good selection of items, including optional eggs cooked to order. There is a great rooftop bar with a quiet relaxing vibe which is a lovely way to end the night! Pool area is also really good and has its own a bar and food menu too.
Nothing it is perfect.
