Hotel GOCO stay Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi

Super friendly, new and clean. Everything you could need. We got a great deal on their tiniest room and it was small! Mind you, we only came back to sleep at night and the in-room washing machine, second sink in the kitchenette, etc made it very usable. Our room looked straight into a wall which actually turned out to be great! We could keep the window open and no rain got in but you could hear it hitting the rooflines. Hospitality of the staff was second to none. Location right off Nishiki Market was excellent. We opted for a morning trip to Family Mart / Lawson, etc for breakfast and the shower/bath was hot, toilet was clean so there were positives even though the bathroom was tiny. Honestly, my review is to say if you are a seasoned traveller and aren’t high maintenance, you’ll be very satisfied here!

Location is great. You walk straight outside and you are basically at the Nishiki Markets! They are located at the end of the street about a 2 minute walk away. Not far to walk to Subway approx 10 minutes. Despite being so close to everything, its in a quiet location which is great. Plenty of dining options and shops all close by within a 5-10 minute walk. Bonus to have a washing machine, came in very handy.

Hands down the best hotel I’ve stayed at in Japan, ever! Wonderful staff who treat you more like family than guests and can assist you with the best options for traveling to your next destination (they even have maps!). Very clean room, staff even escorts you to do an initial room intro, all the amenities I needed were there including a robe / slippers. They even guided me on how to use the in room washing machine and air dry system. One other big convenience is their free filtered water dispenser in the lobby. Worth every penny and I’d definitely stay there again and recommend to others!

The location, the amenities (a washing machine in the room!), and the room as a whole were great. There wasn't a single thing I would complain about, and every aspect of my stay was great. The staff was helpful and attentive.

The location is very convenient to transport, shops, sight seeing places and restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The room is spacious and quiet.

The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and fully equipped with a mini kitchen and washer/dryer. The beds are very comfortable and everything feels brand new. The staff and couple who run the place are absolutely lovely and incredibly helpful with everything. The hotel is centrally located just steps away from the train/metro station and the Nishi market. Highly recommended!

Great location for centre of Kyoto. Right by Nishiki food market. Quiet location and friendly helpful staff. Very clean. Had a great little washing machine in the room and the bathroom turns into a dryer-excellent!

The location and fabulous staff . Unlike some hotels the front desk is manned by people not a computer .
Staff went out of their way to be help . I had a tricky transport schedule from Kyoto to Magome . They helped me put together an alternative schedule . It took a lot time too as trains between Magome to Kanazawa were in frequent .

If we could give this hotel more than 10/10 we would. What a gem this place is! Not only because of the great facilities ( amazing laundry facilities in each room, comfortable beds, so clean, compact kitchen and thoughtful use of space in a small room) and location (right next to Nishiki market, Kawaramachi station and lots of great eateries) but also the staff.
The staff ( in particular Mr. Konishi and Milan ) were so helpful, friendly and thoughtful. We are so grateful to them for all their suggestions: restaurants; transport; sightseeing itinerary and general advice about the city. Mr Konishi made out trip to Kyoto so delightful. Thank you!
