Das Zimmer ist neu renoviert, schönes Bad. Wir haben gut geschlafen. Das Abendessen im Restaurant war lecker, das Frühstück ebenfalls. Die Eierspeisen wurden auf Wunsch frisch zubereitet, klasse.

Sehr freundliches Personal, Individuell bestellbares Frühstück ( kein Buffet von dem Reste in den Müll gehen) finde ich super!
Sehr ruhige Lage, vom Kneipenbetrieb habe ich nichts gehört. Fahrrad konnte in Garage abgestellt werden.

Cons:

Leider keine Lademöglichkeit für Ebike in der Garage.

Pros:

We enjoyed our stay at this traditional "old school" German pub. The place is in the centre of the small town and is a down-to-earth old fashioned house with hearty beers, food and earthy atmosphere. The other customers were mostly older people and it's perhaps not a younger persons place or for younger families. The upstairs rooms have however been refurbished and are very clean, modern and comfortable. Check-in and check-out was efficient and accurate and the separate residents' door allows entry and exit without going through the pub if desired. Breakfast is made to order and to time by completing a form the previous evening. We found the staff to be pleasant, obliging and straightforward.

Cons:

Only minor points. There is no car park but parking is available free in the surrounding streets. The bedrooms have been newly refurbished but we didn't understand why - if everything else was new - the chairs had not been included within the refurbishment... with the holes in them covered with ducktape! Why?! The town is on the Rhein but sadly not a picturesque part of it: the little town is run down with many closed shops and a generally down-at-heel feel in places, in need of investment. The neighbouring schloss which is a music school looks grand from a distance, but on a closer look is more shabby. The listing photos perhaps flatter a little.

Cons:

Der Sessel im Zimmer war total kaputt, sieht dadurch sehr schäbig aus und für den Preis ehrlich gesagt ein no go.
Im Erdgeschoss ist die rustikale Gaststätte, deshalb leider Fettgeruch im Treppenhaus. Ebenso ist der Küchenlärm und die Rufe aus der Gaststube und der Kegelbahn teilweise deutlich im Zimmer zu hören

Uriger Aufenthalt für einen Kurztrip

Einzelzimmer hatten alles was man braucht, klein aber sehr sauber und modern. Badezimmer sehr gut.
Das Hotel ist ansonsten urig gemütlich und historisch. Die Gaststube hatte eine urige Gemütlichkeit, gerade das hat die Atmosphäre ausgemacht. Das Essen war lecker, die Bedienung und der Empfang super nett und total entspannt. Das Frühstück konnte individuell ausgesucht werden (am Tag des Check ins), liegt direkt neben dem Schloss, keine 5 Minuten an den Rhein, gegenüber ist direkt eine Eisdiele mit vielen Sonnenplätzen, nach Neuwied Zentrum etwas weit, aber dafür ist es in Engers total beschaulich und etwas Retro, aber irgendwie total nett.
