Had an AMAZING stay here, I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Kyoto. Location is great and accessible to public transport. The staff are very kind and hospitable. The experience and room is very relaxing and unique, it’s perfect for a Kyoto stay. My husband and I loved having the room with an onsen bath to come soak off all the body pain after a long day of exploring in Kyoto!
Lovely setting, great facilities, such lovely helpful staff. The onsen bath was amazing
The stairs in the room are very steep
Our rooms were beautiful and well appointed. I loved the historical feel and our private Onzen. Our rooms were immaculate.
The lounge needed cleaning so my first impression wasn’t great. The rooms were in top shape tho.
We had an amazing 2-night stay at Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional—every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable.
The traditional Japanese breakfast was one of the highlights of our visit. It was beautifully presented, delicious, and a wonderful way to experience local cuisine.
We also loved the private outdoor bath in our room. It was incredibly relaxing and the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring Kyoto, adding a special touch to our stay.
The hotel itself is peaceful, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, creating a truly authentic Kyoto experience while offering every comfort. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
We highly recommend Nazuna Kyoto Tsubaki St. to anyone visiting Kyoto and would love to return in the future.

Lovely appeal with the little street and separate entrances. Comfortable bed. Private outdoor bath. Comfortable lounge with tea coffee and drinks. Breakfast was very interesting.
Location was a bit out of the way.
Small things could help : hooks outside near the bath for towels and clothes. More milk in the tea and coffee supplies.
Amazing hotel, beautiful rooms and great location. The staff were all lovely and welcoming, helping anyway they could. Would highly recommend for a lovely stay!
Great place with super personnel and absolutely top Service. The condo is very nice and it is super that there is a second floor like a living room. For two people perfect.
The lot with the double bed is tiny. The person sleeping at the side of the window can barely walk properly without loosing balance as space between bed and wall is tiny. If you book this for three, the 3rd person sleeps in the „living room and almost no space left for luggage.
The strict time slot for breakfast is too stressful.
We really enjoyed our private onsen as well as all the complimentary facilities offered by the hotel. One of us booked a relaxing massage who was offered in the room and was outstanding
Nothing really
The ambiance is perfect especially at night. Great breakfast.
There is a step stone from toilet to the bedroom that is a trip hazard.
The kindness and hospitality of the staff! One of the gals that spoke with me at my check in made
Me an amazing hair clip after I told her I have loved being here and in fact just had about 12 inches of my hair cut off in a hair cut in Kyoto. I loved the short look and she agreed. So thoughtful to make me two Barrett's that were absolutely gorgeous. Genuinely nice people working at this property!
I read all of the reviews prior to booking but I was disappointed in my stay. It IS a beautiful and clean place, without question. However,
for a hotel that hosts many U.S. guests, they didn’t speak English very well and some staff, not at all, making it very difficult to even know what amenities were available to us, among other issues. They serve these mini creamer containers for those of us who like cream in our coffee but beware, they literally taste like plastic/chemicals. I asked for real cream and they didn’t understand what I was asking for. The front desk staff sort of understood and said they would look for some at the market and never followed back with me. By the way,
The 1 Hotel in Tokyo and the W Hotel in Osaka provided real cream delivered to our room each morning with our coffee upon request.
I didn’t care for the included American or Japanese traditional breakfast so we cancelled the remainder of our breakfast reservations. They offered a take away breakfast which I ordered the evening prior to our 5:30am departure. When we arrived at the front desk the next morning, the front desk attendant spoke zero English and didn’t have the take away waiting so we left without breakfast. The room itself is beautiful but again, beware because the beds are upstairs and the bathroom downstairs and the stairs are very steep. Fabulous private bath with provided salts was wonderful.
The facilities were incredible, the staff were extremely helpful and considerate as well. We were introduced to the room and facilities by Ruka who was absolutely amazing and even gifted us personalised notes when we left, she was such a lovely person and made the stay very easy.
