Old Bank Hotel

They did not inform at all of their renovation when booking the hotel. Staff is nice, but also not a great area, really noisy, and rooms are really cold at night. Heating system is not working.

The staff at the Old Bank are exceptional. Friendly, helpful - nothing is too much trouble. They will organise every aspect of your day trips and provide helpful advice.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. Bathroom facilities are excellent and the location is good.

I stayed down the street for a bit during this trip. I was eager for a clean, comfortable room to end my stay. I needed a good night's rest before I took my flight home to the US. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast and dinner options were wonderful and the bed was super comfortable. My room was very clean with a great shower and a wonderful climate control system. I also enjoyed the wine options at the bar. The porters and desk staff were so helpful!

It feels like home away from home. Rooms were clean and fresh.
Dining room was pleasant.
My favourite was the lounge area which gave privacy to attend your meetings or just work should want to be out of your room.

The hotel itself is quite old and could use some updates, especially in the dining area. Unfortunately, the breakfast was disappointing — by 9:00 AM it looked stale and unappetizing, which really took away from the experience.

However, the hospitality and staff were truly exceptional. Everyone was warm, helpful, and made me feel genuinely welcome throughout my stay. Their service alone made a big difference, which is why I’m still giving this hotel four stars. With some improvements to the food and a bit of a refresh, it could easily become a top choice.

Excellent hotel with good central location and many dining options including hotel restaurant. Rooms are modern and comfortable and breakfast is great, Service staff was wonderful. We would gladly stay again and highly recommend. Hotel is safe.

The reception staff were amazing!! Very helpful in many ways, above and beyond! Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Large bathroom and good storage space. Breakfast had a good variety of foods, and the waitstaff were friendly and very efficient. I would definitely recommend Old Bank.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Old Bank Hotel at the start of March. What a fabulous stay! The staff couldn't do enough to help throughout our stay and make the whole experience one we'll never forget - so friendly. The rooms are clean, well equiped and very comfortable, the food is excellent.

The location is ideal for exploring Cape Town a short Uber ride away from any of the main attractions. A great local market 2 mins walk away. We also went on a tour around the Cape arranged via the hotel and again the reception staff couldn't do enough to help arrange the tour.

Stay was good, but the last there was a notice coming out of the vents. Staff is incredible, but last morning breakfast was cold and juice was always finish. Airconditioning and television was not up to standard, satellite TV was a problem. Could be better.

This hotel is fairly central in Cape Town, though a bit of a walk from the Waterfront. The staff are welcoming. My room was OK, unspectacular but clean and with all the expected facilities, including wi-fi. Breakfast was satisfactory. I'd be happy to stay there again.

Very central to the places that we wanted to visit. All within walking distance. The Castle, Slave Museum and District 6. All not to be missed.
Staff super friendly and helpful. Arranged our pick up from the airport and taxi to our next destination. Breakfast good with a variety of options. Nothing too much trouble for the staff on duty.
Room really clean , lots of room and bathroom big with nice toiletries.

We had a great stay at old bank. The rooms were immaculate, spacious and very comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault the stay at all. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of hot and cold options and great coffee. Bar drinks and cocktails were great in the evening for a night cap and drinks could be brought to your room after a long day exploring the city.
The only thing to note is location wise we got an uber to most places we visited during our stay, for example the V&A Waterfront and Camps Bay for dinners, which is very easy and inexpensive but most places we visited while in Cape Town were not in walking distance to the hotel. But the hotel staff were always on hand at the door to assist when waiting for Ubers and welcoming you back in the evenings.
We arrived early in the morning and staff were very welcoming with a place to freshen up and leave bags so we could go out exploring and check in would have been available a lot earlier than advertised had we have wanted it.
Would really recommend a stay here.

Exceptional. The most comfortable room, wonderful old building and city vibes. I could hear the church bells on Sunday morning which was magical. Service was brilliant, especially around the parking of our car. Breakfast was delicious and coffee was great!

Really close to walking tours and places that are popular for food like KLOOF street & BREE street.

Fabulous hotel, staff very friendly, we stayed in a Deluxe room and had a fantastic, very spacious room.
Food & drinks were excellent and very reasonably priced for a city centre hotel.
Breakfast was included in our price and was good, with eggs being cooked to order.
The location is just right for sight seeing and within walking distance to everything we wanted to see, we especially enjoyed the V&A Waterfront (well worth a visit)

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Old Bank Hotel! The breakfast was impeccable, with a great selection and attention to detail. A special shoutout to Khanyi, who made us feel incredibly welcome by preparing our table and coffee with care and warmth.

The rooms are amazingly spacious, beautifully maintained, and offered a luxurious level of comfort.

The location is convenient during the day, as it's close to many attractions, making it easy to explore the city. However, we felt a bit uneasy walking around at night, which slightly dampened our overall experience.

Overall, it’s a great option for those looking for comfort and excellent service during their stay in the area.
