The concept is great: you stay in a historic building with modern amenities. The breakfast was fantastic and in the evening you have access to free drinks in the hotel bar. The location is also great in the heart of Ozu old town, plus there's a free shuttle service to the train station.

Beautifully restored traditional buildings, attention to detail, luxury at a good price.
My stay was too short!
It was very unusual but run down.
We had a bad experience. The hotel couldn’t provide a shuttle service or taxi early in the morning so we had to leave one day earlier and forfeit the night and half-board. The staff wasn’t helpful
Very stylishly renovated hotel, with rooms scattered through the historical district of Ozu. Loved the cedar bathtub, the guest lounge, and the quiet garden. We didn’t have dinner in the restaurant but the breakfast was delicious. We particularly enjoyed strolling around Ozu in the evening after the tour groups had left, and our visit to Garyu Senso. We went right when it opened at 9am and had the place to ourselves, which was magical.
We appreciate the contribution Nipponia is making to this otherwise quiet town. It is also beneficial that they provide complimentary pickup from the train station and to dinner from the main office.
Most recognition goes to the dinner restaurant. The food was expertly prepared and creative. It was also delicious.
We had a Yuki unit. The bathroom is an the main floor and the sleeping and relaxing area are on the upper level. The stairs are steep with a shallow foot tread.
Also the lounge area needed attention. The coffee maker did not have water and there were no English signs to indicate the drinks available.
