This was our second stay and it accomplished the impossible -- it transcended our initial stay! We were upgraded to a wonderful suite larger and nicer than many apartments we have lived in. 🙂 Equipped with everything, we were catered to, as we arrived rather late and my husband had looked forward to using the swimming pool, but it was covered and empty. The staff cheerfully directed us, uncovered the pool, and ensured that we were able relax after our travel back to Nairobi. Dinner was again a delight in the restaurant, as was a short shopping excursion to the hand and friendly mall right around the corner. The next morning, our flight was moved up nearly two hours early, meaning we had to leave the hotel at 6:30, while breakfast was to open at 7. We thought perhaps the kitchen might pack a cold sandwich or something for us, but... Instead, the prepared EVERYTHING at the buffet an hour early, so that we could enjoy their delightful breakfast buffet, before departing. Where else in the world does one receive that kindness and effort?!!!
Absolutely nothing! Our experience was better than we could have imagined.
We loved EVERYTHING! Even though we usually stay at 4 star hotels, and have also stayed at many 5 star hotels, our experience at Ulwazi Place raised our experiences to new heights. The facilities, rooms and location are all wonderful. However, what convinced us to return during our two and a half week vacation in Kenya to celebrate my husband's birthday, is the absolute kindness, patience and friendliness of everyone in the hotel and associated restaurant. At 5 star hotels one expects that guests are catered to (although not always politely, I should add). The service and focus on guests at Ulwazi Place are already of 5-star caliber, but nowhere else does one enjoy the happy, helpful and sincere efforts to make one's day (and night) a joy, as at this hotel. The breakfast buffet is high quality. We also celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with a fine dinner in the restaurant. The neighborhood is safe and pleasant, with a small, but sufficient and pleasant local mall nearly next door. Needless to say, when we left, we were already looking forward to our return.
Nothing. Anything that was less than perfect, was not only more than satisfactory, but likely exceptional.
The room setting was superb 👌
The location close to International School of Kenya where I went for a 4-day workshop. Practically walkable. The staff were great and the cleanliness was spot on.
The breakfast was overall good but could have provided more options for one to make a wholesome salad.
Clean rooms and Hospitable staffs
No Air condition—had to sleep with the balcony window open and mosquito repellent to avoid stuffiness. The room I got was facing the school which turned out to be a bit noisy every morning when the school start—teachers use microphones in the assembly and the school buses park right in front the room with such a disturbing reverse alarm.
I will be back for sure.
