Rude Hotel Staff
Pros:

You would think if the hotel is part of the IHG family that someone in management would care when you complained about an issue but no way. He was dismissive and rude to me. This is another hotel that I have to say fully skip. It is loud and dirty and I’m not sure what options one has in Pittsburgh but keep looking. Oh and I’m still waiting for that manager to call me back.

Cons:

Service.

A nice functional hotel.
Pros:

My wife and I like Autograph hotels. Our favorites are the Cavalier at Virginia Beach and the Warrior at Sioux City. The Industrialist is a nice hotel, but there is nothing that really makes it stand out. We stayed for the Pittsburgh home and garden show.

Great.
Pros:

The hotel was very nice. Modern style, clean. The bed was comfortable. The food was great! The staff were very attentive and helpful. I would stay here again.

Cons:

The room was a little chilly. The vent was blowing cold air down all night.

A Stunning Blend of History, Luxury, and Warm Hospitality
Pros:

I absolutely loved my stay at The Industrialist in Pittsburgh. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt like I had stepped into a beautifully preserved piece of the city’s history — but with every modern comfort thoughtfully layered in.

The design of the hotel is breathtaking. The marble, the metalwork, the dramatic lighting, the preserved architectural details… every corner feels intentional and photo worthy. It’s one of those rare hotels where you actually want to explore the hallways and common spaces because they’re that impressive.

My room was spotless, stylish, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was perfect after long days out in the city, and the bathroom felt like a high-end spa with its gorgeous stonework and lighting. Everything felt fresh, upscale, and well cared for.

The staff deserves special mention — every interaction was warm, genuine, and helpful. You can tell they take pride in the property and in making guests feel welcome. It made the entire experience feel elevated.

Location-wise, you can’t beat it. Right in the heart of downtown, walkable to restaurants, sights, and the riverfront. It made exploring Pittsburgh effortless.

If you’re visiting the city and want a hotel that’s equal parts luxury, character, and comfort, The Industrialist is the one. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

It was a nice hotel for a quick two day stay to see the city.
Pros:

I like the modern industrial decor and the small little bar restaurant.

Cons:

I thought the room was a little small, the bathroom wasn't a great design. The sliding shower and lavatory doors wouldn't shut all the way, the shower letting water get onto the floor, the faucet on the vanity top would spray water onto that vanity top whenever it was on, needs a little redesign.
Most of those are minor annoyances but they should be fixed.

Great location and value. Would stay again!
Pros:

The pop up bar was great and the staff was super friendly. The bar/restaurant on site was great. Amazing cocktails made with care. The marble foyer is amazing.

Cons:

We upgraded to a suite and it was very roomy but the sitting area was a little cold/uncomfortable from a seating standpoint. A comfy couch would change everything.

Noisy street and in need of repairs.
Pros:

First, the positives. This is a beautiful building and the staff was great. Now, the issues. We stayed on the 6th floor, and it was definitely too close to the street level. All night long all we could hear were people arguing and screaming. That said this hotel is right on the bus line and people were coming and going all night long. The rooms are incredibly small and the tile work in the shower is in need of re-grouting. The location is convenient, but for the price of this place I expected much better. Lastly, hire more valets. People from our group waited 20+ minutes to get their car from a garage that is literally across the street. Think twice about staying here and if you do stay on the highest floor available.

A pleasant room ruined by street racing
Pros:

"But." I think that's the theme of this review. The room was spacious and clean, BUT we checked out early because downtown street racing went on through the night, and the sound-proofing wasn't equal to the task.

The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was fine, BUT we had to wait for ten minutes for the single staff member to appear.

I can't recommend staying here, unfortunately—either the sound-proofing has to improve, or the nightlife has to. I hope this spares someone else an expensive exercise!
