Categories

Cleanliness
9.2
Generally praised as very clean across multiple reviews; one guest noted an in-room laundry/dryer problem that left clothes smelling, which impacted that guest's perception of cleanliness.
Service
9.6
Staff repeatedly described as friendly, helpful and attentive; many reviews specifically call out excellent service and helpfulness during the stay.
Location
9.8
Consistently highlighted as excellent and very convenient — central, easy walking access to markets, cafes, restaurants and trains; quiet lane setting also noted positively.
Room Quality
9.6
Rooms described as spacious, beautifully decorated and comfortable (wooden bathtub, large bathrooms, stylish layout); a few mentions of room layouts with limited natural light for some units.
Amenities
9.5
Well-regarded amenities: complimentary lounge snacks/drinks, sake machine, lobby fridge, extensive in-room amenities and thoughtful hospitality details reported by multiple guests.
Value for Money
8.8
Mixed sentiment: several guests found the stay excellent for the price, but at least one guest explicitly felt it was not worth the hype/value for money, lowering the category slightly.
Food and Beverage
8.6
Complimentary lounge drinks/snacks praised, but lack of an on-site breakfast or the requirement to pre-order breakfast (three days' notice) was mentioned as a drawback by several guests.
Overall Experience
9.3
Overall very positive: many guests described the stay as wonderful, authentic and highly recommendable; a small number of specific issues (laundry, light/no street view, breakfast availability) slightly tempered some reviews.

Absolutely perfect
Pros:

Beautiful hotel, feels very tranquil. Great location. Very generous room sizes and fantastic space to relax after a long day walking. Staff were very helpful and we enjoyed the welcome matcha drink as well as complementary sake in the afternoon. The tree at the centre of the property is a lovely touch and really elevates the space.

Cons:

The lobby takes away from how beautiful the space. But dont let that put you off!

A stylish, comfortable and perfectly located hotel — we loved everything about our stay.
Pros:

We loved everything! The location is excellent, very close to the subway, great restaurants, and lively neighborhoods. The room was extremely comfortable, and the hotel itself is beautiful, modern and stylish. The washing machine in the room was an amazing bonus and honestly one of our favorite features. Everything was very well thought out. A fantastic place to stay in Kyoto.

Cons:

Honestly, nothing. We had a great stay and wouldn’t change anything.
