I recommend NOT staying here. It's like staying at a Best Western for Ritz Carlton prices. I went with friends and we got a room with two beds - they gave us a room with twin size bunk beds! Like we were at summer camp! We were able to get that changed but even the upgrade was a ridiculously small room. The barrel sauna closed too early, the yoga teacher missed her calling as a drill sergeant (and was discriminatory), the hotel charges for late check out. There is simply very little to recommend this hotel.
Celebrated my first daughters and husbands birthday , of course brought the little one. The stars was amazing and super helpful through out the stay. The pool side was so fun. I believe his name is Shawn who’s is from F&B what an amazing guy! Really made the stay easy and fun for the family. Thank you
We were leaving, but there was a clothing branding shooting, they weren’t really mindful is space. Not the hotels fault.
Beds were amazing, balcony and view were super lovely
Check out was really early and there was a mandatory charge for check out
Breakfast was expensive!
Beach spa hotel on Rockaway near JFK. Enjoyable recovery spot or layover. Greeted with sparkling rosé at happy hour, dinner onsite, sunset at the rooftop bar; then enjoyed yoga, winter pool club, bagels & bicycles on the boardwalk!
My husband and I were here three nights for a little getaway. Very disappointed. The room was so small it was hard to negotiate. There is no place to hang your clothes and the underbed drawers refused to open. We had to get help from a housekeeper who showed us you have to kick them hard, then stick something in the corner to keep them from closing again. I don't expect in a luxury hotel to get on the floor to access my clothes . The shower was fine, once you figured out how to work it - very complicated. Likewise the lighting. As noted in another review, the room refresh only meant clean bedding (which I don't really need daily), towels and trash emptying. No wiping up in the bathroom. A glass I used on arrival sat with its lipstick stain for our entire stay. The Spa lounge was a lovely space to relax and read, except for the constant music. My real complaint though is the $50 per day charge -on top of a hefty room fee- for a glass of wine when you arrive, a cup of coffee or tea in the morning, use of a beach bike and permission to enter the lounge. Oh and pickup/dropoff IF available. Honestly, I've stayed in many far less expensive hotels where all that is included. It just seems mean-spirited. The staff, both in the hotel and the very nice attached restaurant, however, were very pleasant and accommodating.
Everything! A super cool yet relaxed vibe. We will go back when we need a dose of urban meets beach/surf!
Hotel is only on business due to a lack of competition. Rooms are very small and poorly designed. The staff, with a few exceptions, is surly and incompetent.
Our room was cleaned only once during a 3 night stay, despite us being out of it for the majority of each day
Highly recommend finding other accommodations and using transportation to get to the beach as opposed to staying here.
Highly recommend Margie’s. Phenomenal food. I love the Sunday “parm” night dinner special. Make sure to get an Irish coffee from Frankie the bartender too! The best IC in the city!
Thanks, Brandon
Las instalaciones y la tranquilidad. Excelente limpieza.
todo estuvo correcto
The hotel is super cute, has many events going on (even during winter), staff is very friendly. Margie's has great food and want to highlight how nice and helpful Jayleen was during our stay. We were upgraded tks to Amex Platinum and our room had a really nice water view besides being very spacious and comfy.
The Rockaway Hotel and Spa is nice - I stayed here during a big winter storm because my flight got cancelled at JFK. It looks close on a map to JFK but it took nearly 40 minutes to get here and that was the best of conditions (dry clear road, no traffic). And then at least some of the rooms don't seem to have working heat. The room I was assigned (which is a very small room - only big enough for a bed - and one small stool - no chair, and not really any place to work - was 65 F - and I hoped it would warm up. It didn't - so I had to sleep in a very cold room and it was too cold to shower there this morning. I called about getting the heat fixed. Someone came by eventually (very slow to come by) and then nothing got fixed. So then I requested to switch rooms - which the staff did. And that room had the same heating issues!! So, I called again (no phone in the room by the way - have to use your cell phone) and they said they'd send someone - but after an hour, that person still didn't come. Room is 64 F!!! So I'm just spending the time in the hotel lobby and may even have to sleep here too if they can't figure out a solution. Pretty frustrating!
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and we loved every minute of our stay. The staff had great hospitality and customer service was 10’s across the board! We will definitely be back again.
I loved the heated pool. The bed was so comfortable that I slept better than I have in a year!
Check in was delayed due to a computer problem. The room was small and had no coffee or mini fridge.
The interior design is lovely, modern and refreshing. There are attempts to remind people to be quiet in the corridors (even though the signs are ignored)
I got a moldy cake slice (Zucchini & Chocolate) from Claudette's Cafe.
I would be lovely to have a kettle in the room with tea and coffee.
There was a frequent alarm/buzz sound that could be heard from my room - 418.
