Location is amazing, lots of restaurant options & walking distance to different main tourist attractions.
The front desk staff went above and beyond to help us with information and reservations multiple times. I would highly recommend this location to anyone visiting Rome.
Nothing
Delicious breakfast buffet and great location plus good employees.
What a wonderful experience with this hotel. The customer service was exceptional. Adriana at the front desk is fantastic.
The hotel was fine for most part but the air conditioning in our room kept quitting. First 2 nights it worked fine. But 3 fixes that didn’t keep it running and last 2 nights of minimal sleep. Hotel lack of concern was frustrating.
I had a great stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti. The room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. I would definitely stay here again when visiting Rome.
Rome wasn’t built in a day, but this hotel stay was pretty well put together.
Nestled on a quiet corner in a cozy cul-de-sac, the DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti feels like the hotel equivalent of finding an empty gelato shop in July—peaceful, unexpected, and very appreciated.
Check-in began with warm smiles and the legendary DoubleTree chocolate chip cookies. I’m convinced those cookies have solved more travel-related stress than most vacation planners.
Lucrezia at the front desk deserves a special mention. Need restaurant recommendations? Hidden gems? Local tips? She seemed to have Rome’s entire unofficial guidebook stored in her head.
Alexander handled our luggage upon arrival, saving us from dragging suitcases across ancient Roman terrain that was definitely not designed with rolling luggage in mind.
Clark quickly came to the rescue when we needed extra towels and washcloths. Fast response times are an underrated vacation luxury.
At checkout, Hannah took great care of us and graciously awarded 10,000 Hilton Honors points after a minor housekeeping mishap. A broom had been accidentally left in our room. Honestly, after walking miles through Rome every day, I briefly considered putting it to work myself.
Little mistakes happen. What matters is how they’re handled, and the staff did so with professionalism, generosity, and genuine hospitality.
Now for location and breakfast—two things that can make or break a stay.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of Roma Termini railway station as well as the local Rome Metro, making it incredibly convenient for getting around the city or heading out on day trips.
Breakfast had plenty of delicious options. I was pleasantly surprised to find Lavazza coffee—something I had been spoiled with on a Princess cruise. Thankfully, the hotel serves it here as well, and in a fancy self-serve dispenser, no less. It paired perfectly with the classic Hilton chocolate chip cookies, continuing what I can only describe as a very committed dessert-coffee relationship courtesy of Hilton hospitality.
For breakfast itself, I went with scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, orange juice, a chocolate croissant, and a bombette. There was also a solid spread of breads, cereals, waffles, and fresh fruit for anyone looking to mix it up or behave more responsibly than I did.
Coffee in hand, pastry secured, and jet lag slowly fading—this was a strong start to the day in Rome.
Final thought:
A quiet base, a well-fed morning, and a city waiting just outside your door. Not a bad way to start the day. Between the helpful team, comfortable accommodations, and quiet location, this hotel provided a relaxing Roman retreat away from the crowds—close enough to enjoy the Eternal City, yet far enough away to hear yourself think. An Epic Roman Thumbs Up!
Stayed for 3 nights and can’t fault it. Staff were amazing and really helpful with recommendations for places to eat and watch the football.
They couldn’t have been more helpful and were genuinely happy to help which I don’t often see so it made our trip much better.
Thanks to everyone at the hotel.
Сняла с обоих карт за проживание, с одной карты которой бронировала и на стойке попросили оплатить налог и депозит. В итоге по выписке вижу сняты с обоих карт за проживание. И депозит не вернули
The hotel is lovely and has great customer service. It is next to Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore, which is beautiful and houses the tomb of Pope Francis and relics of Jesus’ manger. Centrally located, we were able to walk to several great restaurants, the coliseum, Trevi fountain, and Spanish steps. We were leaving early for the airport, so the front desk arranged a taxi and bagged breakfast for us. I would definitely stay here again.
Surprisingly noisy for rooms facing the streets. It’s a new, 5-year-old hotel but they didn’t install higher quality soundproof windows. You will hear the motorcycles and sirens, especially beginning at 6:00 a.m. as everyone heads to work. If you are a Diamond Member, as some mention below in their reviews, it’s unlikely you will get an upgrade. Before coming to the hotel, I chatted with the front desk in the Hilton app, inside my reservation for a possible high floor (not even a view of the plaza). The high floor was to avoid the noise we had read about in the reviews. The response was in the chat was, “You didn’t pay for that category. Would you like to upgrade?” I asked, “As a Diamond Member are upgrades available? The paid upgrades that they had just offered all of a sudden apparently disappeared. Their follow-up response was, “Oh, I’m sorry we are sold out.” I checked the Hilton app. Upgrade rooms were still available. I repeated the request at check-in. Nope, “Nothing available.” I checked the app again, there were still upgrades available. I didn’t argue. If you get an outside room, bring earplugs and/or use your white noise phone app. We did get a good free breakfast as a Diamond Member. The rooms are nice, clean and the Wi-Fi is good. The main advantage of the hotel is that it’s in a good location. It’s only an 8 minute walk from Rome Termini main train station, which is very helpful for the direct train to the airport and metro connections. We would stay here again because of the good location but next time we would ask for a courtyard room.
The DoubleTree in Rome Monti was incredible. We stayed there twice in two weeks. The staff was kind enough to upgrade our room for the second stay. Our departure date conflicted with an airport strike and we left Rome a day earlier. I want to especially thank Divine at the front desk for helping me navigate the earlier checkout. I will definitely be back.
From Australia to Italy, our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Rome Monti was an absolute ripper. What really stood out wasn’t that everything was perfect every second of the day, but how well the staff handled the little things when needed.
The manager was hands-on, genuinely cared, and clearly takes a lot of pride in the hotel. The reception staff were fantastic throughout our stay; friendly, welcoming and always happy to help.
To top it off, after checkout we realised we’d left our passports in the safe… classic tourists! The team sorted it out quickly and without any drama at all.
Great location, great people and the sort of service that makes you remember a place long after you leave Rome.
Lo centrico del hotel, las habitaciones muy cómodas y excelente atención del personal
