What did I do to deserve this??
Pros:

The location was excellent.

Cons:

The room was not clean, sorry sock and toenail clippings on the carpet.
The hot water was not hot, so my partner and I had two cold showers. Asked reception to come and check, collect dirty sock etc and was told the water was"pretty warm", so I didn't feel like I was getting the car I usually expect, nor value for money.
At $290 for one night, I would expect hot water and vacuumed floor free from human detritus

Sehr gut an der Promenade und Lagune gelegen – gute Betten, schönes Zimmer– tolle Dachterrasse – sehr gutes Frühstück– e
Pros:

Schönes, ruhiges Zimmer, direkt an der Promenade. Freibad Lagune, direkt vor dem Hotel Ausgang. sehr freundliches Personal. Einfacher Checkin und Checkout.
Hotel einfach mit Auto und zu Fuß zu erreichen. sehr guter Ausgangspunkt um Cairns und Umgebung zu entdecken.
Wunderbare Dachterrasse für ein sehr gutes Frühstück – abends auch gutes Snacks. Viele Restaurants und Geschäfte an der Promenade fußläufig, schnell zu erreichen.
Jederzeit gerne wieder, wenn wir in Cairns sind.

Location is good

Cons:

Very impersonal , poor customer service, breakfast cold and very poor selection. Rooftop bar closed early - no food or drink on the evening we got there. Lacking in atmosphere.

A good hotel with amazing staff
Pros:

The location of the hotel in the heart of the Cairns "CBD," accessible to the boardwalk and marina and vicinity of some of the best restaurants (e.g. Ochre and Ollie's Italian).
The hotel is relatively newish (compared to some really dated options), and hence the rooms were clean and looked pleasant.
The bathroom is great, and the rain shower, especially so.
Comfortable bed.
The staff at the reception (with a 4-night stay, I had the opportunity to interact with them more than usual) - Christina, Sonia and Pantita - Thank you, you are amazing!

Cons:

My overall score in based on my personal experience, and was largely influenced by the inability to regulate the temperature in my room. I am aware that Cairns is tropical in its climate - but the room's air conditioning could not be controlled and it felt like it was around 21-23 degrees. This meant poor quality sleep for 4 nights and having to wear a jacket inside the room, which was a shame.
The single elevator is sometimes slow.

Pros:

Cozy modern room and very clean. Loved the bathroom. Big mirror and shower. Continuous fans in the bathroom allowed wet towels and clothing to dry. Surprise housekeeping service on the 5th day when we were out. We thought there was no housekeeping so we were happy with that. Overall the room was great. We were very comfortable.

Cons:

A microwave would have been good.
Free movies were a good idea but the choices weren't that great.

Shame nice hotel spoiled by noise 6am onwards
Pros:

Modern, clean, nice rooms and good location

Cons:

Rooms on Floor 4 are impossible to rest in after 6am when chairs and furniture at the restaurant on the floor above start getting moved around. The Ocean View rooms look into trees in reality.
