Nice place, but next time I’d choose the Wyndham over the Holiday Inn

Beds, shower, soft close doors, heavy light block curtains, spacious rooms,

Cons:

We chose this hotel because of the pool and hot tub… They look so nice online. However, that pool was packed from 8 AM to 8 PM with many children and families. I did not think that they were hotel guests. I know this hotel offers services to non-guests and I feel like we could not relax and enjoy the pool the entire time due to the sheer number of people that were out there. They also had some kind of a pool party gig where they were serving food and you could pay money for this buffet. But all the tables were reserved and the music was extremely loud so again you couldn’t really go down there. I think it was some kind of a holiday weekend perhaps and it’s not normally like this, but it was very disappointing for us. We really wanted to relax and have a quiet couple of nights and the only place we found that was locked in our room. It dampened our experience a lot.

Very nice hotel near Quito airport for Galapagos layovers
Pros:

The location was good, about 10 mins from the airport. They give the option of free shuttle or private driver. We took the driver so we wouldn't have to wait for shuttles. The hotel is newer and it showed in the decor and quality of the rooms. The bathroom and shower were top notch, with adjustable hand held shower heads. The beds and pillows were luxurious. The restaurant was very good, with a nice choice of buffet or a la carte menu. The buffet was not as extensive as the one at the Wyndham, however. The rooms were also very quiet which was not the case at the Wyndham. Their doors would slam all night long; we didn't sleep well there.

Cons:

We really were eager to use the pool but it was packed with people and kids almost all day and night. I can't be sure but it seemed to me that the families using the pool were not hotel guests. As the hotel offers packages to non guests for amenities, I assume this was why the pool and outdoor spaces were extremely busy. The first day we stayed there they had a patio buffet thing going, with a bunch of reserved tables and very loud music going for hours. We were hoping for some relaxation time around the pool but that was impossible, and disappointing, as this was the top reason for us choosing this hotel. We realized later that we arrived during an Ecuadorian holiday weekend, so this might explain the pool situation.

Excellent airport hotel!
Pros:

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. It’s very close to the airport and offers regular free shuttles. They stored our extra luggage while we went to the Galápagos. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean.
