Structurally safe apartment, easy access to public transportation and shops.
The bedroom had no window, resulting in poor ventilation. Water pressure was extremely weak. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, each spring could be felt as if they were poking through the cover; causing back and shoulder pain. Pillows were flat and unsupportive. The sofa and its mattress were also uncomfortable. Dishes were not properly cleaned before being stored.
The AC was problematic: the remote initially did not work, and when we asked about it, the manager responded dismissively (“why would you want to use AC?”). We explained it was needed for ventilation due to the lack of a window. After replacing batteries, the unit still functioned poorly, and the filters were heavily clogged with dirt and what appeared to be mold, making it ineffective and concerning from a health perspective.
Cleanliness was also an issue—there was visible dust and even hair on the floors upon arrival. Despite this, the property enforces a €30 cleaning fee, which felt unreasonable given the condition of the apartment and discouraged us from requesting cleaning during a long stay.
Only three toilet paper rolls and three trash bags were provided for over two weeks for two adults, and requests for refills were refused, giving the impression that basic necessities were being withheld to push guests toward paying the cleaning fee. Requests for fresh bed sheets were also declined.
Management was consistently unhelpful and dismissive, which made it difficult to address even reasonable concerns during the stay.
The apartment is located on a quiet street and is equipped with everything we need for a short stay. The photos match the reality. Aytac the host was very kind and hospitable, we enjoyed our stay greatly!
Location is very good. It’s in a quiet street, yet within 5 minutes walking you have mini markets, restaurants, bakeries, bus, tram and ferry. It’s in a historical neighborhood with many things to see and visit. You can take the tram and be within 30min in Sultanahmet. You can take the ferry and again be within 30min in Kadikoy, or other districts as Karakoy and Beyoglu. The kitchen had a proper working stove and kettle. There was a fridge with small freezer unit. There was heating also an airconditioning and tv, however I haven’t used those. Washing machine with laundry rack was available for long stays. There were some cleaning utilities to maintain the apartment. Easy self-checkin process. Overall very good stay.
The sofa had stains also the bathroom could be a bit better maintained. The kitchen had scratched pans and pots. However I don’t blame this on the managers/hosts. The sofa issue is that many foreign tourists use shoes in the house. The host cannot renew the sofa every year, quite understandable. Same for the scratched pans and pots. Some guest just aren’t careful. For the price I paid I did not mind it. I bought my own kitchenware and used a plaid for over the sofa. Bathroom can be cleaned a bit better, the cleaning lady is not very careful. I am sure if I had mentioned to the host, they would send cleaning, however I didn’t want to bother. Also I would like to strongly point out that the things I mentioned above are within expectations of the rate I paid.
The apartment layout was functional, and the structure felt solid and secure, neighbourhood was nice.
The sofa was in very poor condition, with a torn mattress and a loose cover exposing the rubber underneath, making it uncomfortable to use. The bathroom ventilation was broken (with a note asking guests to leave the door open after showering), and the shower drain was nearly clogged. The AC remote was missing. Towels were old and unpleasant, and cookware was heavily worn and did not feel safe to use. Bathroom lighting was partially broken, make it very dim.

Le quartier est vivant et très agréable, proche des transports pour visiter la ville .
L'appartement est vraiment très petit pour 4, et pas équipé pour manger a 4 ( deux couteaux, deux chaises, une table toute petite...). Le clic clac n'est pas très confortable, difficile à déplacer et lorsqu'il est déplié on n'a plus accès à grand chose.
Чисто (!), тепло, на кухне есть основная необходимая утварь для готовки. Удобное бесконтактное заселение и выселение.
Район интересный. Удобно добираться на трамвае до центра и основных достопримечательностей

Perfect location in old city - Balat. A lot of restaurants and grocery shops nearby, so you can be sure that you will find something to eat and drink. Just a short tram ride away are the main sight seeing places
The property was very clean
Very old, low quality linen, tiny uncomfortable sofa. The lights in the stairs has a very delayed timer so you are often walking in the dark
The location was excellent, right in the heart of Balat, making it very convenient to explore the historic side of Istanbul. The self check-in process was smooth, with the keys stored in a locked container in front of the door, which was a new and interesting experience for us.
The room design was also very nice and thoughtfully done. Additionally, there was a small electrical issue when we arrived, but it was fixed very quickly, which we really appreciated.
The floor is old, and some parts were damaged, which could be a safety concern. It also creaks a lot, especially at night, which can be disturbing when a child is asleep. The couch bed was uncomfortable, almost feeling like lying on the floor.
We had reserved a room based on the photos on Booking, expecting it to be on the 2nd floor, but we were given a room on the 3rd floor. With very narrow stairs, it was difficult to carry heavy suitcases up there. The room lighting was dim, which we are not used to, although a small battery-powered light helped a little.
The room was reserved for 3 people, but there were only 2 chairs at the table, which was not very practical. Overall, the apartment is fine for a short stay, but since we were planning a longer stay, we decided to move to a more convenient apartment.
If you are 2 people and planning a short stay, this apartment is acceptable.
La casa è molto bella. L'host risponde subito e risolve qualsiasi problema. Consiglio di soggiornare in questi appartamenti per visitare una delle città più belle al mondo.
L'armadio in stanza è un po' troppo vicino al letto rendendo difficoltoso il passaggio.
