The giant terrace is a real plus, and the view of the Moorish Castle from our room. The beds and bed linens were high quality and very comfortable. The Ac worked well and it was nice that we could also open the windows.
The hallway to our room was dark even in the day, at night it was pitch black trying to get into our room.

We tend to choose the highest floor to avoid noise on our ceiling. At Nova Sintra this meant a Double Attic Room which has a sloped ceiling. Mostly this was not an issue but it’s more noticeable in the bathroom.
Right next door to a laundromat.
5-10 minute walk from the train station depending on how fast you are with luggage (the taxis are reluctant to take such a short fare). You can hear a low rumble of the trains coming and going if the windows are open.
There are places to eat nearby including a nice bakery.
Quiet enough at night to sleep with the windows open rather than running the AC.
The Hotel has a well-stocked bar that you can order from until 7:30 p.m. They will bring the beverages up to your room.
Wifi in the attic is weaker than downstairs.
8:00 a.m. breakfast start meant we had a rushed breakfast in order to get to the bus to Pena Palace for a 9:30 a.m. entry. Taxi from the train station is faster than the bus.
No elevator and even if you choose a lower floor of the hotel, there are stairs up to the property.
No refrigerator in the room and they request that food be consumed on the downstairs terrace or in the breakfast room.
The location was ideal, the patio is magnificent, including spectacular views of the Moorish castle, excellent coffee and breakfast, only surpassed by gracious and helpful hosts Rui and Simon.

L hôtel est très bien situé, un peu en retrait donc au calme. Nous avons tout particulièrement apprécié l accueil et la gentillesse du papa et du fils, aux petits soins pour nous. Ils nous ont bien aidés à organiser notre séjour.
Le top, ils parlent français, c est bien commode !

Charming building, decor. Delicious, hearty breakfast. Caring, attentive staff. Within walking distance of Sintra center, restaurants, stores, busses to the attractions.
I stayed for a week, and began to feel like I was at a quaint bed & breakfast.
Not the fault of the hotel, but parking was an extreme challenge. With help from the hotelier, I found a place for the week.
Breakfast was good. Quite varied. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Location was ok but the pavements around by the hotel were very broken and you had to watch your footing.
What really makes this hotel is the people who run it - a father and son who cannot do enough to help and provide for you. They advise on the area, transport, restaurants and anything else you might need. The hotel itself is within a short walk of the station which is good when you have bags, and they see you coming and help with your bags up the steps (the hotel is above road level). It is about 15 minutes walk to the historic centre of Sintra. There is a lovely terrace with seats and umbrellas and views of the castle. Cushions were brought out for us. Breakfast was simple but good too, especially the really fresh fruit. We had two rooms - one quite a bit bigger than the other, but it was perfectly adequate as we spent very little time in them. Reception closes at 7pm but you can arrange your evening drinks before they leave.
