I really loved my stay there, especially how nice was the staff! its secluded and has a great view on a mountain and they allow dogs to run on the property, and you can chill by the pool. They also have a cute donkey :) the rooms are nicely designed and have everything you might need. Great value for money!
It is a little on the outskirts so it's better if you have a car vs walking. but they provided me with a nice taxi contact details so in overall it was still amazing and I highly recommend!
Nothing.
The location was near a highway and noisy, too far to walk into town and the entrance was not signed. It was also locked and we had to wait for someone to provide access as the entrance is not staffed. The entrance is all dirt and there was donkey poo everywhere. The place was pokey and small, less than basic. The spa was cloudy and dirty and the friends I was with refused to let me stay, and one of them paid for me to stay elsewhere as I had to wait for a refund. I am still chasing a full refund. Do not stay here.
Lovely property, with trees and a pool. There’s even a sweet burro named Filemon. Rooms are simple, but have what you need. One whole wall is windows facing the pool, but they have floor-to-ceiling curtains that mostly block out the light. Bathroom was large and had wonderful hot water. Drinking water was available at the main office, in addition to two bottles of water provided in the room. Monica was friendly and helpful and gave me a lovely tour of the property.
Good luck trying to find a sign at the property. After you turn off the main road (there is a clear sign there, indicating Los Cruxes), when you get to the end of the driveway, there are multiple gates but no signs for the hotel. Instead, you face a gate with a glowing sign for a restaurant named Sampas, which does not appear on Google and gives no hint that this is actually the gate to Los Cruxes. Would it be that hard to put a sign on the gate with the name of the hotel? Frustrating to be told to follow GPS directions but not have any indication of which gate to enter when you finally do arrive.
The views, size of the rooms, the donkey, the staff
It would be nice to have a little fridge or coffeemaker in the room
The staff are amazingly helpful. Daniel and Monica go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay! The pool and giant hot tub are very refreshing and clean (and well heated). The view of the mountains from the pool area is awesome. The Bar is well equipted and very busy. The restaurant food is great. They can make many dishes. The walk to town is all downhill and takes about 25 minutes or a taxi ride costs about $3 each way. The famous walk to the bottom of the climb to the Tepoztlan Temple ruins is just $4 vy taxi. The bus station and taxi areas are a 5 minute walk.
The rooms are very basic but comfortable and clean.
