Stylish countryside retreat worth that bit extra without breaking the bank.
Pros:

Lovely traditional stylish country pub hotel. Room stylishly appointed to lift it above standard rooms. Very comfy bed, Loved the pillows and the dimmer switch on the lights. Lovely quiet location. Nice complimentary toiletries everything looked clean and in good order. Friendly host, good food. We will definitely stay again when in this area. great location for Penrith and exploring the northern Lakes.

Cons:

the room was compact compared to some we have stayed in, but you could easily get around the bed at all sides and it was pointed out there was a ground floor conservatory for guests to use should we wish for a sofa/large comfy chairs to sit.

lovely property very welcoming and homely
Pros:

I had a lovely stay at the Brantwood Hotel. I arrived in the afternoon and my room was already ready for me. It was a lovely, clean and cosy room with a huge bed that was extremely comfortable and had plenty of pillows.

It was exactly what I wanted from a country hotel – very homely, peaceful and welcoming.

I had an evening meal and dessert, which were both lovely. The following morning I had breakfast, which was also really enjoyable. I checked out at around 9am, although I could have stayed until 11am with the late checkout.

I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.

Cons:

The only downside was that my room was number 1, right at the top of the stairs, so I could hear other guests coming and going. Thankfully, it quietened down after around 10pm.

Good one night stay
Pros:

Very friendly staff. Excellent evening meal

Cons:

A wee bit difficult to find as SatNav couldn't pinpoint the hôtel. This is NOT the hôtel's fault but visitors be aware!

Fabulous food
Pros:

Friendly, great value for money, the food was outstanding, room was very comfortable and clean.

Cons:

The shower was the only thing letting it down, water pressure was constantly dropping causing the water to get suddenly very hot and then very cold, I have experienced this in many other hotels but this was by far the worse, I heard another guest mentioned the same problem.

Comfortable, welcoming and good value.
Pros:

Very friendly staff, extremely comfortable bed. Lovely breakfast. The overall feel of the hotel is welcoming and comfortable. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Will definitely use the hotel in the future when we are travelling.

Cons:

A couple of tiny things - a light fitting was missing from the overhead bedroom light and the light was a bit flickery. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great - a result of the style of building, I suspect.
