The hotel is indeed in walking distance from the Haneda airport - basically inside the same complex. Very convenient for us when we returned to Tokyo from Hokkaido as we arrived late in the evening and had an early morning flight to Europe a few days later. Hence less stress on the arrival day and ditto on the departure day. Easy access to convenience stores and restaurants in the airport area and plenty of transport opportunities. Our preferred option was the "Tokyo Panorama Line", which is the official nickname for the Tokyo Monorail, connecting Haneda Airport to Hamamatsucho Station in central Tokyo. It is a monorail running 17.8 kilometers along the waterfront and taking about 13 to 20 minutes with great views of Tokyo Bay.
The hotel reception was almost as busy as an airport departure hall and the service level was low. Felt we were treated pretty much like customers in a busy supermarket but given the number of guests waiting to check in the process was in fact surprisingly slow. But I imagine we were just unfortunate. Overall this little hick-up didn't matter much for us.
Regarding the rooftop onsen we were informed that it had separate areas for males and females. This is typical in Japan but for most western families it is really disappointing as we would prefer to be together all four of us. Consequently, we ended up not making use of this facility at all.
