Poor service, disappointing stay.
Pros:

nil

Cons:

Overall, I was disappointed with my stay.

On arrival, the receptionist asked to take my bank card and make a copy of it. I was uncomfortable with this, as card pre-authorisation should be carried out using the payment terminal rather than by copying a guest's card. I felt this compromised the security of my card details.

There was also no chair in my room. I asked for one, but despite my request, it was never provided.

The mattress did not have a protective cover. The bed sheet was placed directly onto the mattress, which I did not consider hygienic. I ended up placing one of the towels underneath the sheet before using the bed.

Breakfast was advertised as being available from 6:30 am. However, before 7:00 am there was nothing ready. On the first morning, a member of staff realised the breakfast should have been available at 6:30 am and kindly asked the kitchen to prepare something for me. On the second morning, however, I had to leave without breakfast because nothing was ready, and the staff appeared unconcerned.

Finally, there was virtually no sound insulation between the rooms. I could clearly hear conversations from neighbouring rooms as though the people were in my own room. This lack of privacy significantly affected my stay.

Overall, these issues left me with a poor impression of the hotel, and I do not feel that the standard of service or accommodation met my expectations.

Comfortable and convenient very reasonably priced accommodation.
Pros:

My room was quiet and comfortable despite the pub being on the ground floor. Parking was very convenient and covered by CCTV. The Bournbrook Inn was very convenient for local visits.

Cons:

The decor was a little in need of attention, but this did not affect the comfort of my stay.

Cheap and cheerful no frills perfect for a night or 2 for the cricket or wherever else you have travelled to Brum for
Pros:

Cheap and cheerful near edgbaston so very convenient for cricket , nice friendly helpful staff . Shout out to Demitri who helped us sort out issues getting a room some sort of mos communication between booking.com and hotel . Nice breakfast , complimentary parking

Cons:

Breakfast is now separate when booking the room which is an added extra , but well worth the 8.99 tbh

Comfortable good value for a triple room
Pros:

The staff were very friendly, it was a good location for us, our beds were comfortable, the free parking helpful and the attached pub was welcoming as were the restaurants in the area.

Cons:

Nothing really, but if you are wanting luxury rather than good value this may not be the place for you.

Ideal for Edgbaston visits
Pros:

This is the third time we have stayed here over the years. Always warm welcome on arrival, plenty of parking at rear. Room has all you need, clean nice bed linen and towels, plenty of tea and coffee makings, and complementary shower and shampoo. For the price of a room it really is a bargain.
Plenty of beers and ciders on offer in the bar, with outdoor seating to the front and back.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, eg happy to put our ice blocks in their freezer overnight.
Ideal for Edgbaston visits, no 45 bus leaves from just across the road or Uber xl for 6 people just over £6.
Breakfast buffet is well cooked and nice quality bacon and sausages (£8.99)
Highly recommend
