We had a wonderful stay at this hotel Kyoto. The hospitality was exceptional, the room was comfortable and clean and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were kind, attentive and always ready to help making our stay more memorable, the small little details that was shown for our anniversary was something that made much more wonderful and unforgettable and that was something that made our stay even better and more welcoming. Thank you for making our Kyoto stay so special. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend this hotel others!

Location was great. We stayed in an upper floor room that was large and had fantastic views. The top floor lobby, bar and restaurant also had great views. Free alcohol drinks and snacks in the lounge/terrace area were a nice treat.
Breakfast was very disappointing and the wait staff really need more training. My main meal was served before my entree in the restaurant my husbands fish was cold. Allot of meals were been back.
The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring Kyoto on foot. Close to wonderful dining options, interesting alleyways and markets close by. Easy access to public transportation.
The breakfast was very tasty with many options. We enjoyed relaxing in the lounge. Every member of the hotel staff were nice and helpful. The experience was wonderful.
If you're looking for a more Western-type hotel in the heart of Kyoto, think no further. This just works. Breakfast is solid. Location is perfect as Pontocho is right in the heart of the busy areas and restaurants. The staff was friendly as you'd expect for japanese hospitality.
Hotel is not the typical japanese vibe... but this might not be what you're looking for. So this may or may not work for you.
This is a beautiful special hotel in a perfect location. We splurged for my birthday so knew there would be an incredible view over the river, but didn't know about the daily cleaning, the lounge access, and how perfectly located it was. The lounge offered a little oasis with free beverages for breaks between outings in Kyoto. The lobby on an elevated floor included a restaurant and bar that we didn't try but it looked like a great option. The options for food, beverages, fun, activities, shopping within a 10 minute walk around this hotel are spectacular.
This isn't an onsen hotel but an onsen in the hotel would have been just icing on the cake.
The hotel is in a great location and has a great area around it, and the rooms are comfy and clean.
The facilities are so so - the bar at the 8th floor is slow and lacking, forgetting our orders. We saw no washing machines available - only laundry service that was very expensive. the luggage sending service was also expensive in comparison to other services and hotels.

The location is incredible, the place is very well taken care of and comfortable. The lounge is an amazing option and the fireplace at night is a great touch!
It was very convenient and close to lots of nice restaurants.
The downstairs couches were very dirty.
