the room was just right breakfast and evening meal were also excellent, the same were very friendly
Unfortunately the Bar was closed at 2100 hrs even though there were guest within the bar, the person closing the bar said it was because it was to hot and the kitchen staff had left, we did get another pint after some discussion but was informed to drink it out side, which was disappointing, we finished the pint about 2200 when three other guest return to have a drink before retiring for the evening only to be informed by us that the bar closed at 2100. this did soured what was i would say was a great place to stay but if they will be closing the bar so early I would not recommend others to stay if you wish to have a evening drink, or check before booking this would not happen.
The staff were excellent as were the meals (evening.meal and breakfast)
The friendly and helpful staff who were always around to make sure we had what we needed, and the location is great as you can walk to town, and castle the food is delicious.
The air conditioning has a little problem, but staff did provide a fan and the bathroom had a unpleasant smell, could use an air freshener

It was lovely and clean, peking and food was great.
The pillows were totally crap, super thin not did nothing. Didn’t like one of the rooms we had upstairs as it was very noisy from doors banging most of the night.

Our room - room 16 - smelt disgusting, it smelt of drains, enough to make you gag. We only dropped off our bags on arrival so hadn't really suffered it and it was late at night when we returned to our room so felt we couldn't tell staff. We opened the window which then made the room noisy from the road outside. On telling staff the next morning, two said yes, the drains can be awful, it's not our fault. So why let the room? I emailed the manager on our return but have heard nothing back 7 weeks later. Not good enough.
It was comfortable and scrupulously clean
The staff were very friendly, rooms nice and clean with conducted and pillows.

We had a very good reasonably priced meal in the restaurant.
The bedroom and shower room were very small but they were clean and it was fine for one night.

Could not find the TV remote
Staff were polite, friendly and extremely welcoming. Rooms were clean, and well presented.
On our first night we were so tired we went straight to bed, and then in the morning asked if everything was ok, and did our TV work?
We hadn't used it, so we then checked and it didn't have any sound... straight away, we were move to a fantastic room near the back entrance to Pub and right next to the car park, so super convenient, they moved all our suitcases into the room for us.
Staffing found were very informative about places and things to do in and around Tamworth, which was so helpful.
The Food...... Bloody brilliant, and reasonably priced too.
Huge choice of food whether it be breakfast or dinner, all freshly cooked , piping hot, and tasted amazing... not to mention the portion sizes were good too.
So all in all, we absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend, and absolutely stay again.
I dont think we can fault our stay!
