Friendly pub, with great sized room and view. Perfect location.
Pros:

Room was a great size and had a view, breakfast was excellent with a very obliging chef. And we appreciated being able to leave our luggage for a couple of hours. Pub had good ambience and reasonable prices for drinks and meals. Location perfect.

Cons:

We didn’t realise there was no parking and with the bridge closed it was confusing as to where to park nearby. Perhaps it could be clearer that there is no parking and some suggestions given of where to park.

Lovely place, would stay again!
Pros:

Location, centre of Whitby town. Cleanliness, quiet room despite it being the England-Norway match! Good breakfast, privacy is promised and delivered! Polite staff.

Cons:

Heat - very warm room, weather was warm though. There was a desk fan in the room but it would benefit from a ceiling fan if possible.

Don't exactly jump through Hoops here.
Pros:

Our room was clean, bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Attitude of some staff who dragged rest down with them. The Chef refused a client and extra egg despite him excluding other items from full English breakfast. Very rude greeting by member of bar staff stood outside at 10:30 on on our arrival back at end of night.
Not impressed by the hour, 0830-09:30 breakfast slot.
It's location on far side of swing bridge from town makes it very difficult. This appears to happen often during hit weather

Enjoyed our stay and hope to come again. The only let down was the unfortunate breakdown of the bridge but this did not
Pros:

Lovely room (room 2) great views. Clean and comfortable. Grateful for facility to get water and milk.

Pros:

The property was in a fantastic location. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bedrooms had plenty of space and over looking the sea. This property is also five mins from the station. Breakfast was delicious. Can’t recommend it enough.

The position of the hotel is perfect, the pub can get noisy, we would stay there again.
Pros:

The position of the hotel is excellent, not too far from car or station. We were in room 2 which is probably the best room being quite large, with a wonderful view of the bridge and river. It was clean and tidy but the toilet/ bathroom is cramped.

Cons:

The hotel is a pub that has 5 or 6 rooms. It does not have normal hotel facilities such as the room being tided and the bed made while you are out. Milk and bottles of water were kept in a fridge on the stair half landing going up to the next floor. There is not a fridge in the room.
Really these were all minor points as far as we were concerned and it did not spoil our stay. We would go there again.
