Everything was amazing! The room, the staff, the facilities…I highly recommend it!
A little bit further away from the center…but you can easily get a taxi.
Unfortunately, our experience with The Caliana Ubud Resort was not positive, particularly because of the way an exceptional situation beyond our control was handled.
We had booked our stay in Bali starting from 10 August 2026, but during our journey we became stranded due to the severe typhoon that affected the region and resulted in approximately 1,500 flights being cancelled. The cancellation of our flight, followed by several subsequent changes to our itinerary by the airline, prevented us from reaching Bali as originally planned.
We were finally able to arrive in Bali only on the afternoon of 12 August, meaning that we completely lost the nights of 10 and 11 August, which had already been fully booked and paid for.
We contacted the hotel, explained the situation in detail and provided the reasons for our delayed arrival. We simply asked the hotel to consider a refund for the two nights that we were unable to use, given the exceptional and fully documented circumstances.
Unfortunately, our request was refused.
We completely understand that hotels have cancellation policies and terms and conditions. However, in exceptional circumstances such as these, we believe that a certain degree of flexibility and consideration towards guests should also be shown.
What disappointed us most was not simply losing the money for the two nights, but the feeling that there was very little understanding of a situation that was completely beyond our control and caused by an exceptional weather event that affected thousands of travellers and resulted in a huge number of flight cancellations.
For this reason, while we acknowledge that the property itself is pleasant, we found the handling of our request and the complete lack of willingness to find even a partial solution to be unprofessional, especially given the extraordinary circumstances.

La villa pour 4 est bien, accès direct à la grande piscine, mais attention, en pleine nature donc pour ceux qui n’aiment pas les insectes et autres bêtes…

mon pouce (et je n’ai pas de petits pouces 😂).

We stayed in a wooden villa surrounded by rice paddies. Everything was perfect , the scenery , the location, the villa was amazing, and very private.

Perfekt, da gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Lage, Personal, Zimmer ..... einfach nur genial. Roller konnten wir oben an der Straße ausleihen und es war alles relativ rasch zu erreichen ..... den Verkehr muss man mit einrechnen.
Entspannung pur. Mitten in den Reisfeldern.
Dass wir nur 3 Nächte da waren (reicht aber um sich im Umkreis alles anzusehen). Den Luxus würde man aber länger aushalten.
We stayed in a private bungalow with pool, fantastic! Amazing view over the rice field, lots of privacy and nice large pool. The room itself was also super nice. Beautifully done, very good hot shower.
Small things could be improved. Sometimes swim towels were missing in the room or only 2 towels available for 3 people…but I you called they would bring them. Also the restaurant in the evening is not the most atmospheric. But there are many option close by outside the hotel.
D'Made Restaurant has an extremely varied menu.
The staff are all charming.
