Middling good hotel in great Valetta location.
Pros:

Amazingly good location. In the middle of restaurants and cafes and a very nice focacceria (sandwich shop). One block from Republic street where many of the sights are. Excellent rooftop restaurant where we got bkft and mid-day drinks. Views of the city and water to die for.

Cons:

Front office staff very variable. The person who checked us in was unfriendly and did not offer the welcome drinks she was supposed to. Other front desk staff on other days were extremely gracious and friendly and helpful. The worst experience was in the spa. Booked a 60 min massage; had to wait outside the spa which was locked; the masseuse came 10 minutes late, then took 5 min to get the room ready, rushed thru the massage and finished 5 minutes early; total time was 40 minutes and then she lied to her boss that she had provided a 60 minute session!!

The room was dark (with all lights turned on) and dingy. Otherwise the facilities were good.

Great location in centre of Valletta. Staff generally were helpful and friendly, particularly reception and restaurant reception.

Cons:

Pool area very cramped. Sometimes a lot of noise could be heard at night outside the hotel from our room. Often noisy until early hours of morning. Breakfast room a bit too small for number of tables and you have to go through the restaurant to get to the pool area which could be quite congested.

Pros:

Excellent service, beautiful rooms that weee very comfortable. Right in the centre of town. Staff went out of their way for everything we needed.
