Great boutique-style hotel - would highly recommend it!
Pros:

My wife and I stayed in a Western-style room; our 3 kids stayed in a Japanese-style room (which was nicer by virtue of the Japanese-style shower). Both rooms were clean and comfortable.
Breakfast (both the Japanese and western) was delicious.
Close to Nishiki Market, Gion district, shopping and transit.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Pros:

Großes, stylisches Zimmer mit Kitchenette und Waschmaschine mit Trocknerfunktion. Sogar das Waschmittel stand bereit. Super Service. Tolles Frühstück, beste Qualität, allerdings in der Tat wenig abwechslungsreich. Man kann a la Carte zwischen 3 Varianten wählen. Uns hat es nicht gestört, weil es so gut war- vor allem der Frucht-Smoothie! Das Hotel liegt super zentral und ist dennoch ruhig. Es sieht in echt noch schöner aus, als auf den Bildern. Wir können es uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Pros:

The hotel has two styles of rooms - the traditional Japanese and the traditional Western. I had a room with tatami mats. While this took up a fair bit of the room, there was ample storage space for the luggage.

The room also had a toilet room separate from the shower/wash basin, which was a nice way to optimize usage.

Given that my stay was in the summer, and it very hot and humid, the free laundry facilities were much appreciated.

We had the breakfast included, but note that there is only two options each morning - Japanese or Western, and they don’t vary... so if you're staying for multiple days, you may want to be selective on how many days you top up for breakfast.

Also note that the breakfast space is open as a lounge during the day, so you can hang out there if needed.

Finally, there is a small whiskey/wine bar at the back which is only open in the evenings for 3-4 hours. Small and worth a visit or two. It's not advertised that well...

Cons:

It was mostly good... would have been nice if breakfast started earlier and had a few more options...

Excellent triple room
Pros:

Wonderful triple western room including a powerful shower, good AC, washer/dryer combo in the room. The location is great near the canal and transit plus an easy walk to Gion. We recommend both the Japanese and western breakfast that are generous, fresh and well prepared. The staff were always delightful.

Pros:

Staff were nothing short of great every time we saw them and spoke to them.
There was no hot water one morning due to a power outage. The staff were great when we told them and sorted the problem very quickly when we mentioned it.

Cons:

If you run hot during summer I’d be aware that you can’t adjust the aircon. The room was hot most of the time and we weren’t able to change the temperature.

Schöne, Zimmer. Das Personal war immer wirklich sehr freundlich und hat uns geholfen, wenn wir Fragen hatten. Wir haben Fahrräder im Hotel geliehen und die Stadt erkundet. Auch das hat gut geklappt.

Cons:

Notre chambre manquait peut être un peu de lumière naturelle mais ce n est qu'un tout petit détail qui ne gâche en rien la qualité de cet endroit

A nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of Japan
