Basecamp Suites Canmore

Nothing related directly to the unit we stayed in but related to staff. When we arrived I was nearly hit on the head by a bag of laundry dropped from the third floor by cleaning staff. It seems to be common practice to drop these bags to the ground level courtyard. In my opinion, that is a very unsafe act and should be stopped.

In der Küche fehlte hier und da ein Küchenutensil das wir gebraucht hätten. Preis könnte etwas günstiger sein. Parkplatz hinter der Unterkunft ist etwas versteckt und uns war erst nicht klar wo der sein soll. Pool machte schon 15 min vor der Closing time zu.

Apartment setup was a bit tight as we needed to use the sofa bed. There was no room for the large, round coffee table.

No hay recepción física. Todo lo que ofrecen es un teléfono con una persona bastante desagradable al otro lado. Pedimos entrar antes (a las 13h) porque llegábamos de un vuelo agotados (pagando el extra). Nos dijeron que no era posible hasta las 16h (luego averiguamos que la habitación sí que ya estaba hecha). Tampoco tuvimos donde dejar las maletas. Cuando supimos que la habitación estaba lista, les llamamos después y no nos cogieron el teléfono. Tuvimos que llamar desde otro número y ahí si que lo cogieron. Pésima atención.
Luego en nuestra reserva de booking ponía que se podía aparcar. Dejamos el coche en una de las plazas y resulta que según ellos no nos correspondía. Nos enviaron un email amenazante de que si no lo quitábamos nos iban a cobrar 150 dólares extra.
Nuestra habitación estaba en el segundo piso y no hay ascensor. Hay que tener en cuenta esto si llevas maletas grandes o vas con personas mayores. Por el precio que cuesta seguro que hay opciones mejores en Canmore.

Not very clean and worn-out

Smaller than expected. Lighting in rooms made it difficult to see. Parking a little tight.

Parking is incredibly tight, leading to significant delays and congestion as people try to park. The rooms are quite small and appear to have been cheaply renovated, using what seem like low-quality materials. There's minimal cleaning, with noticeable dust on the vents. Additionally, there's no elevator, and no staff are available on the premises.

The low rating is not because of the room, but because of the unacceptable check-in process and handling of sensitive personal information.
The process required uploading ID photos and providing full credit card details, including the card number, expiration date, and CVC security code. Only after completing this process would the hotel provide the room number and access code.
The issue is not the pre-authorization itself, which is a standard hotel practice. The issue is being required to provide full credit card details, including the CVC security code, instead of using a standard POS terminal or a secure third-party payment authorization system that most guests expect for protecting their financial information.
Future guests should be aware of this unusual check-in process before booking.

No front desk, email received was different to message received on the booking.com app - didn’t make it clear that check in was remote. We had a problem with our credit card hold for the damage deposit so had to travel to a different hotel to sort this out! Bedrooms were very small, didn’t have room to put any stuff. Sink in bathroom was tiny so it was a constant juggling act trying to get ready! Also overall the property is looking a bit tired - stained couch, damaged walls & baseboards - not what I would expect for the price

Too small bedroom , no king bed (was advertised that no king bed) but looked bigger in pictures and front balconies gives a false idea that every suite has that.
