We decided to spend our honeymoon with Koukoumi and it was the best decision! Starting from the location, very welcoming and relaxing with a touch of luxury. The entire week has been regenerative, with the days spent by the pool on some of the nicest and comfiest sits/chairs I've ever experienced in vacation. The evenings were even more exciting because we knew we were about to try more dishes from the menu! Every dinner felt like a Michelin star experience, from the lovely and attentive staff (shout-out to Luca and team!!) to the spectacularly curated seasonal flavours in every dish. If you are visiting during SS26 I recommend the Sinless Memory and the Surf and Turf (the last one is addicting). A lovely selection of homemade soft-drinks and cocktails, with a good selection for the wine-list, local to what the area has to offer. The breakfast was also very impressive, a whole buffet completely vegan! Both sweet and savour selection tends to slightly change every morning ( I guess that's a way for the kitchen to minimalise waste, which is admirable and can get very creative at times!)
We also had the change to talk with the owner (she's very friendly and always roaming around most days) and you can tell that the entire koukoumi project was very curated and designed to stand-out from the rest of the island. Mykonos is known for big parties and roasted meat, koukoumi is the exception with a relaxing atmosphere and services, wrapped in a eco-friendly and deliciously vegan entity.
The placement of the hotel is a bit tricky (but that's just the layout of the isaldn) if you don't feel confident in driving (like myself) but with a bit of planning you can reach the old town for the more touristy bits, by bus from Ano Mera.
Again, a huge thank you for the entire staff for making our honeymoon so special and memorable, we can't wait to be back!
We were met at the airport (transfer included in the price) and 20 minutes later had a warm welcome at the hotel. Special mention to Dimitri for being super friendly and knowledgeable about where to go when we hired the car.
Location is good - near a small supermarket and bakery (which did excellent vegan mushroom or leek pie for 3 Euros). It is 1.5 miles to the nearest beach which is sandy and has two beach restaurants on it - the open one was very expensive but ok for a refreshing beer.
We hired a car via the hotel for 50 Euros per day and spent one day at Mykonos Town which we loved and one day visiting the rest of the island.
Breakfast was amazing. Lots of hot and cold, sweet and savoury delights. Great coffee (although we had to keep reminding them to make the cappuccino HOT) and fresh orange juice. Service was always good if Francesca was there (otherwise not so good).
Dinner was also excellent- we tried everything off the menu and the flavours are divine. Again service was good if Luka was there…if he was not there, then not so good. We had the wrong food delivered three times (in 5 nights) and once got our main course before the starter. The staff (other than Luka) seemed uncertain which table was which and what the dishes looked like. Once we waited over 30 minutes for dessert. Hopefully this will improve in time as the staff were all friendly and no doubt will improve.
There was also the issue that whilst delicious, the portions are small. This is ok except there was no option for a side dish of bread or vegetables for example. The seitan steak for example was lovely and came with a slice of potato but that was it. Also whilst the lovely minty water was available on the first night from the jug, after that we were not allowed as it was deemed too “unsightly” to pour free water from a nice jug, but ok to pay for bottled water! Just seemed a little penny pinching.
Our room was great. Good size, nice shower and separate toilet. Cleaned every day to a high standard. The fridge was not cold however, so we asked how to turn it up and were told it is a set temperature- which was room temperature! So the maintenance man gave us another, which was the same. I am sure he would have changed it again but perhaps they are all the same.
We had a lovely private veranda with a hot tub which we used each day and a hammock. Bed was super comfy too.
So overall very good just need some training in the restaurant to get the service to match the quality of food. But again special thanks to Dimitri, Luka and Francesca who really stood out to us.
We komen absoluut terug!
The choice of food was amazing as was the quality. The staff were amazing
There was nothing we didn’t like
Best vegan resort ever / and the most caring staff you can imagine, from the receptionist Marianna, the owner Giorgia to our most lovely yoga-gym-nutrition-life (!) trainer and therapist Alex!

An incredible experience! The food was over-the-top delicious, and Alex was an amazing yoga instructor. It was such a treat to stay at this peaceful hotel.
It was an absolutely dreamy stay at the hotel. The booking went smoothly. We received the necessary information in a timely manner. The staff on site was always very friendly, warm, and helpful. Everything was always impeccably clean and tidy. The food is a vegan dream. If possible, definitely book the tasting menu, it is absolutely recommended and a taste experience. 100% likelihood of repetition.
We had a great stay overall, but still I gave lower rating due to how expensive it was.
Highlights:
1. One of the dinner main courses (seitan steak, ‘Sinless Memory’) and one of the lunch deserts (pistachio gelato) were just amazing.
2. Room cleanliness and upkeep
3. My wife really enjoyed the Yoga class
4. Great atmosphere from staff and even other guests
5. Getting a really luxurious experience, especially when it comes to dinner and lunch.
6. Just the general feeling that they do what they do out of love, gave me a cozy feeling from the minute I walked in.
Lowlights:
1. Maybe it’s just my simplistic preferences, but I didn’t like most of the food. It was often just too intense. Quite often things just had some sort of ‘bacon’-y flavor to them which I really didn’t like (even the morning tofu scramble). And I have tasted salt less salty than the miso, which was being too-generously used in several dishes.
It also didn’t help that it was really hard to understand from the menu, what the dish is actually.
2. Shower, toilets, etc.:
a. There was a noticeable sewage scent coming from the toilet room, probably from the drain in the floor.
b. Really didn’t like the choice of shower heads. Using vintage metal ones was heavy, harder to operate, and felt less clean.
c. Too few places to hang towels. Putting two hangers in the same space as where the shower takes place - we had to choose whether to not keep them there to dry or to risk getting them wet while we shower.
3. Room didn’t have enough light – natural light wasn’t abundant and lamplight couldn’t cover parts of the room as well.
4. Room had two windows, one of which faces the busy road just outside the hotel. If we kept it open, we had terrible noise coming in. If we kept it close – no air flow (which we needed because of the sewage scent).
5. The seating options around the pool were not very comfy.
6. Staff (mainly the waiters/waitresses) were very professional and gracious, but for me it was too much so; almost robotic. Considering that the staff are the only people I talked with for three days (aside from my wife), this could have made the experience that much better.
A wonderful hotel with charming and attentive staff and a fabulous vegan menu. Our daily yoga and meditation sessions with Alex were healing and energising; the perfect start to each day! We also recommend trying the 9 course tasting menu and the cooking class. The pool area was very relaxing with a variety of comfy sun beds. The well-equipped gym and a sauna were an added bonus.
Perfect vacation - we spent 5 days here with our young-adult son. From the large rooms, with their amazing matresses and pillows, to the heavenly pool area to the delightful meals, we felt pampered and relaxed throughout our stay. The staff was gracious and helpful, and the owner of the hotel is so lovely. We look forward to our next stay.
The staff, restaurant and general relaxed atmosphere were great.
