Unlawful Room Entry, Humiliation by Staff
I stayed two nights at this property, prepaid through Priceline, without any issues. On the morning of checkout I proactively booked and prepaid an additional night through Priceline, over $175 for a Friday night, specifically so I could remain in good standing and continue my stay without interruption.
I called the front desk to let them know I had extended and asked whether I could remain in the same room. The agent said she would call me back. I never received that call.
Approximately one hour later, while I was in the bathroom without my pants on, there was violent pounding on my door, loud enough to suggest an emergency. Before I could respond, the door was forced open. Three hotel staff members were standing in the doorway. When one of them saw that I was not dressed, she did not stop or step back. She pushed into the room, loudly demanding I be escorted out.
I was then escorted downstairs in front of other guests and lectured about checkout time, as if I were unaware, despite having just paid $175+ for that exact night. The staff member handling the situation was apparently not aware I had already paid for the night, which means this entire confrontation was the result of an internal communication failure, not anything I did wrong.
When I became upset, reasonably so, given I had just been physically removed from a room I legally paid for while partially undressed, I was told to leave the property entirely and to seek a refund through Priceline.
There was no phone call, no knock-and-wait, no basic courtesy. Three employees were dispatched to physically confront a solo guest who had done nothing wrong.
The dignity and privacy of a paying customer were completely disregarded.
I am pursuing a full refundM and have filed complaints with Marriott corporate, the BBB, and am exploring legal options under California law.
Do not stay here if you expect your reservation to be honored or your basic dignity to be respected.
Unfortunately, our stay got off to a disappointing start.
The hotel’s published check-in time is 4:00 PM, but our room was not ready until approximately 5:00PM. While delays can happen at any hotel, what was most frustrating was the complete lack of meaningful communication or service recovery from management.
When a guest is waiting nearly an hour past check-in, a sincere apology, regular updates, or some gesture acknowledging the inconvenience would go a long way. Instead, the response felt indifferent and dismissive. The manager, Lynette, offered little empathy and made no effort to address the situation beyond simply informing us when the room was eventually available.
The delay itself was inconvenient, but the lack of hospitality and accountability is what left the negative impression. As a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member, I wasn’t looking for special treatment. I simply expected the room to be available at the advertised check-in time, or for management to take ownership when that didn’t happen.
Hopefully this was an isolated incident, but based on our experience, the hotel’s handling of guest service fell well below expectations.
Hotel location is good ...able to walk to multiple restaurants. Staff was friendly. However, I booked and paid more to get a terrace room but did not get one. Checked in at 4 and was told they had no terrace rooms and since I booked thru a 3rd party there was nothing to be honored.
Die Lage war okay.
Man kann die Fenster nicht öffnen, die Klimaanlage war sehr laut. Dadurch konnten wir kaum schlafen.
Good beds and good space in the rooms.
No parking, bathroom was filthy. I had to ask front desk to cleaned the sink as I found hair upon arrival.
Breakfast was mediocre, no quality and little options, specially for the price, not worth it.
Staff is fantastic, courteus, and willing to help.
My roon had an AC Unit which I was unable to turn off at night, the AC would go off but the it had a loud noise for a fan, that will simply not stop, even after I contact technisian. I could not sleep the night.
Services at Valet parking, our Tesla was charged and ready to return home!
Everything was excellent
It was a clean, newer property and the staff was excellent!
The layout of the bathroom sink area was too open. Hard to get ready with dim lighting when someone else is still trying to sleep. Also, it had more street noise than expected.
Absolutely terrible stay. My room was facing the club and they had bass pumping until 2, AND YOU HEAR NOTHING BUT THE BASS. Ill give this a 4/5 if there's no noise but no.
The freeway noise
All of the young people from front desk, valet, and the young man making coffee before breakfast were all outstanding!
N/a
There was hair on the bathroom floor. The highway was super noisy
Propre, bien situé, salle de sport bien équipée
Climatisation impossible à couper et très bruyante.
propre, bien situé
It’s close to downtown and the room we were staying at was way bigger than we anticipated which we loved
The AC unit was loud and made some clunky noise which kept us up a couple times in the night. It sounded like construction was going on. Also one of our towels in the shower wasn’t fully cleaned and had hair stuck in it.
